One Year Blogiversary In a Small Home and Giveaway!
My Wee Abode is one year old! Yep, and what better way to celebrate this one-year blogiversary in a small home than with a giveaway?

Hey, friends!!! So glad you are joining us today because today is special! Just a wee bit over a year ago, after spending WAY too long trying to make this blog ‘perfect’, I finally clicked the ‘Publish’ button for the first time, and My Wee Abode was born!

To celebrate the blogiversary, let’s do a few things, shall we?
Why These Posts?
First, let’s take a look at a few posts that are especially dear to my heart, and I’ll tell you why they are so special to me.

Pros and Cons of Small Home Living
My very first post is pretty close to the top of the list!
I loved sharing my home for the very first time, on my very first post. I loved sharing the good and bad of living in a small home, along with other ideas I had for MWA.
However, I had never picked up a DSLR until January of 2018 (when My Wee Abode was born). So, my daughter ‘volunteered’ to help me with my first photos!
But she didn’t help me with the editing.
So much to learn… and still learn.
This post is a fave of mine because it shows me how far I have come in the past year, and it will be a constant reminder for many more year (Lord-willing).
By the way… *I* took this photo just several months later! 😉 Still, lots to learn, but it’s gettin’ there!
My Word of the Year, With a Twist
My second post is making the list, too!
Creating and sharing these free printables, along with a tutorial for a frame collage, was so fun, and hopefully inspiring to you! And, again, I learned so much from this post.
Like how to take a ‘flat-lay’ photo.
Do you know how long it takes to write out instructions for a DIY? Well, I got my first taste of how long!
And you learn how to print notes and instructions on a photo.
Oh, and there’s also the realization of just how stinking hard it is to take photos in a bathroom! (Hint, the shower isn’t just for bathing anymore!)
DVD and CD Storage Solution – No More Shelves!
Okay, okay… this is the last of the ‘early months’. But, I must say, sharing small home storage solutions really is something I love to do.
So, the plan this year is to share more apartment, rental space, and tiny house solutions! Like this one!

Affordable Storage Solutions for Small Bathrooms
Okay… this is still an early one, but this is short and sweet. The reason this is at the top of the list?
This post, sharing affordable bathroom storage solutions, was (and still is) featured on HouseBeautiful.com… twice! See it HERE and HERE! So exciting!
Add a Quick and Pretty Closet to Any Room
Okay… This… this has been an amazing addition to My Wee Abode (dare I say a ‘lifesaver’?). And, if you are looking to add a closet to a room, without using any power tools…
This is the closet hack for you… seriously.
DIY Velvet Pumpkins Just Like the Pros
Okay… I’m going to ‘close’ my favorite posts with this one…
Mainly because I want to get to the giveaway, don’t you? I thought so.
To date, this is my fave post, by far. Why?
Because now you can DIY your own designer-look velvet pumpkins…
Plus, these velvet pumpkins were super fun to style!
And… I gotta be honest here… my photography ROCKED! Praise the Lord!!!!

Congratulations Julie on your one yr. Bloganniversary! My hubby and I live in a 1100 sq. ft home. It has 3 bedrms. , one bath , formal lv.rm, rec, rm, dinning rm, and kitchen w/ washer-dryer in the kitchen. Our home is 57 yrs. old. I so enjoy our quaint home 🙂 We remodeled the bathrm. and kitchen….Added white doors on all exterior doors down the hallway. Rest of the home has the wood stain doors/ trim. My hubby is not a white trim/ white fireplace kind of guy, so part of the home is left for him to enjoy the space:) But when we remodeled he was okay with the hallway doors to each bdrm and bath. 🙂 I so enjoy your pictures of your home….Thank you for the fun giveaway…Linda
