Spring Decor Ideas in an Apartment – Light and Airy

After a damp and cold winter, do you like to lighten things up for the spring?

I sure do!

To keep things light and airy for spring, think about keeping your decor to a minimum. You don’t need to fill up every surface area.

Using a YouTube video, you can add spring artwork to your Smart TV!

As well as keeping things de-cluttered, think about a color palette that works for your home. In MWA, a neutral foundation works best. We’re talking whites, creams, grays, and beiges.

Then, add a pop of color or three for the season. This spring, I’m using greens with a touch of pastels.

The “Great is Thy Faithfulness” sign is a fave of mine, and the MWA family, as well! 😉

Faux or Real – Florals in Spring Decor

Adding florals to your seasonal decor in your tiny home or apartment really gives a nod to spring.

Of course, when using real florals and greenery, it’s easy to pick up the flowers of the season. But, when using faux, be sure to use the flowers and greenery that actually bloom in the spring. This gives a more natural look.

The “He Is Risen” sign is a purchase from Walmart. Here is a similar cutout sign, also available at Walmart.

Spring Decor Ideas – Textures

When adding spring decor to your home, using different textures adds interest.

Fill a bowl or vase with moss balls as well as grapevine balls and a few speckled eggs!

My vintage cookie mold was an affordable find during a special visit to AZ last year!

Of course, using moss balls always seems to be a good-old-stand-by for spring decor, but these vase/bowl fillers have a twist of pretty chartreuse vine that makes them extra special!

In this centerpiece, wooden boho style eggs with moss and some pastel lavender tapers are a great filler for the galvanized tray!

Spring Apartment Decor – Using Spring “Animals”

It’s always fun to add sweet little animals to your home that remind you of spring. Think about:

  • Bunnies and rabbits
  • Lambs
  • Eggs (well, this is an unborn animal… LOL!)
  • Chicks, spring birds, and even ducks!

I’ve always struggled using too many of these adorable items. But I’ve found that if I find items that are more stylish instead of cute, and use them with a light hand, I’m a bit more content in my home. (I’m still working on this habit, which might be obvious! 😉 )

A few additional items you might want to add to your small living room space would be:

wooden candlesticks with green and white candles and velvet heart with leaf sign on console
Adding a velvet heart to a candle holder still says ‘spring’!

This vintage wooden cookie mold is double-sided. Don’t you think this looks like spring, too?

PRO-TIP: Another apartment living room spring decor idea is to use mirrors! They are not only pretty, but they make a room look bigger! Take a look at these Anthropologie mirror dupes for some great and affordable ideas!

I absolutely love the idea of virtual house tours! It’s so fun to see how different people decorate their homes for each season. Your apartment living room looks beautiful with all of the spring decor. I especially love the pops of green and floral accents. It’s inspiring me to start adding some spring touches to my own home. My question is, what’s your favorite way to incorporate seasonal decor into your home without breaking the bank?

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Frances, and for the question. I would say that pillow covers are my fave way to up the ante when decorating for any season. Amazon has some lovely covers, and they are super affordable. Also, purchase items that you can use over and over again, and do as many DIYs as possible. 🙂

    1. Thank so much, Marilyn… That sign is a fave of mine, as well. I used to sing this song to my kids every night before they went to sleep, and now my daughter is doing the same with her kids. I’ve added links in the post for both items. I hope this helps!

  17. What a great way to end the day! And so awesome that the family tradition has been carried on to the next generation. Perfect! Thanks Julie!
