Autumn Pillows You Will Fall For!

Spread the love

Ohhhh, you see what I did there???  “Autumn Pillows You Will FALL For”… get it?!  Yep… I crack myself up!  But, I do have some lovely pillows to share, and I even matched them up for you to eliminate some of the guesswork!

If you took a peek at my newsletter on Tuesday, I mentioned that I would be back with a ‘transformation’ today.  Well, I’m going to need to share that NEXT week!  I’ll share why in that post, as well! (If I forget to tell you, remind me!) 😉

There are SO many reasons to ‘fall’ in love with autumn pillow covers (okay, I’ll stop…)

Now, y’all know I love pillows!  I even got a bit carried away this summer when I shared my Summer Pillow Inspiration with you.  I don’t know if it’s because they are affordable, the pop of color they lend to the home, the comfort they give when sitting watching my favorite show, or just because they are fun to celebrate the season with!  Whatever it is… I’ve got some autumn pillow pairs to share with you for this fall season! So let’s get to it!

By the way, if you like this collection, you might enjoy the collections I share each week on Tuesday Turn About!  Take a look!

CLASSIC STYLE

Here are some pairs that would look good in just about any home… they stand the test of time, and have a current look as well.  (I apologize for the pics of the linen covers… they are really quite pretty… go take a look at them to see the actual photo on Amazon.)

Pillow tip #1:  Be aware, some pillow covers are printed on only one side, and may have a solid color on the back (these one-sided covers usually cost less).

COASTAL AND JUST FUN!

Y’all KNEW I was going to share my aquas!  Aqua is a beautiful addition to fall decor, especially if you mix it with warm colors, like yellow, orange or brown… take a look!

Pillow tip #2: Wonder how designers have such ‘fluffy’ pillows?  Down inserts are the way to go! (IKEA has nice ones, and they are SO affordable… we’re talking less than $6!)

FARMHOUSE STYLE

Y’all know I love farmhouse style.  My Wee Abode is coastal, farmhouse, cottage style all mooshed together.  (I could have said ‘blended together’, but today, the word ‘mooshed’ just sounds right to me.)  So here are a couple of TRIOS that work well together, and can even be mixed and matched among the six pillows!  Which ones would YOU put together?

BTW, #4 is a lot prettier than what the picture is showing here… go take a look, please! 😉

Pillow tip #3: Another ‘fluffy’ tip… When using down pillow inserts, be sure to always purchase the insert 2 inches larger than the pillow cover, i.e., an 18″ x 18″ cover looks best with a 20″ x 20″ insert! 😉

So there you have it!  Short and sweet, but pretty charming pillow covers, am I right? ( I had SO many more I wanted to share… perhaps another post!)  Which is your favorite, and what colors do you use in the fall?  Would love to hear from you in the comments!

  1. I have the black and white check pillows and pair them with shaggy, furry off-white pillows since my decor is not farmhouse, but more contemporary. They are very usable, as they will go with just about any decor. An inexpensive find, for sure.

    1. That sounds SO lovely! I think we can often switch up things to fit our own decor personality, just like you did! Black checks work in LOTS of different styles… and I often see the faux Mongolian hair pillows, even in cottage/farmhouse style homes. 🙂 Thanks for sharing Pam, and very nice to ‘meet’ you! 😉

  2. I sa your collection on Instagram and fell for them all! O, really bad pun, but seriously, these are all beautiful. You did such a good job matching the colors and grouping the style types of your pillows! So pretty Julie! Pinned 🙂

  3. I was sitting here wondering where in your wee abode would you store pillows for every season. Then I read closer. Covers make so much more sense. I didn’t even know such a thing existed. Missed you this morning. Blessed Sabbath.

    1. LOL! Yes, I have a drawer that holds my covers. They are folded in a special way and color coded. 😉 Ty was baptized this morning, so we were at Crosspointe! 😉 Love ya, dear friend!

    1. Thanks, Janet! Yes, it’s hard for me to stay away from the coastal colors, especially because my current area rug in my living area is aqua (looking to change that out!). Thanks for coming by!

    1. Aw, thanks so much, Stacey! It’s always fun shopping for pillows, don’t you think?;-) Thanks for coming by!

    1. Sandy, so nice of you to come by! I LOVE those farmhouse pillows, too! So many covers, so few drawers! 😉 Thanks for coming by today! Hugs and hearts!

  4. Julie the first bunch is so unexpected for fall, but pleasantly so. Sometimes you want to get away from the traditional colors and try something different. Great choices.

    1. I agree… I think the yellows and the oranges with the aquas and teals look like autumn… warm and cozy! (I think the yellow one actually looks like corn! LOL!) Thanks for dropping in and visiting, Mary! Hugs!

  5. So many fun combinations. A simple pillow can really refresh a room. I do like the classic choices but if I had a beach house or lived in a coastal climate the I could totally see the bright aqua choices you have chosen here. Maybe one day.

    1. Yes, Patti… I have a hard time choosing between them all! We’ll see what I go with on a fall tour post, I hope! 😉 Hugs, friend!

    1. Thanks, Barbara… isn’t the teal so pretty. I think I may do the teal with the oranges and yellows this year. So hard to choose! 😉

  6. I love your pillow collection. I fell for all of them. Pillows are my weakness. Stop by Thursday Favorite Things since you are one of my features.
    Hugs,
    Bev

    1. Oh, thanks so much, Bev! Of course I will be by! I’m so happy you liked the pillow collections, and, yes, they are my weakness, too… I often have to hold myself back! 😉

    1. Oh, thanks, Fernie… I did not make any of these affordable pillow covers, but I do know how to sew, so someday I will get to making some!
