Tuesday Turn About #240 Springing Into Fun
Tuesday Turn About #240 Springing into Fun: The party has started, and it’s all about kicking off the new season with DIYs, crafts, decor, and more!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #240 SPRINGING INTO FUN
Last week, Lynne shared some wonderful creative crafts!
I’m BAAAACK, and ready to party!
How ’bout you?!
This week, I’m going to kick-off the season with some wonderful features for spring DIYs and decor! There’s even a feature that might inspire you to kiss the Blarney Stone, unless you already have the gift of gab… 😉
And remember…
Be sure to hop on over to My Family Thyme to check out FIVE additional features from TTA!
If you haven’t been featured at MWA this week, you just may be featured there!
Abode Adventures
It’s been awhile since I’ve caught you up on what’s going on here at My Wee Abode.
As most of you know… my mom entered Heaven’s gates and ran into her Savior’s arms on January 26th. She went on comfort-care with hospice less than a week before, and quickly passed the following Friday. We were all surprised at how fast it went. This has been the hardest part for me and my sister to process… the 24 hours before she actually passed.
We celebrated Mom’s new life on February 10th. It was a blessing with probably about 150 people in attendance, from family to friends that we’ve known for over 40 years. It was a time of honoring Mom and glorifying God. Here’s a recording of the service, in case you’re interested:
My sister and I leave for a ‘sister-trip’ next Tuesday. The day before Mom passed, we had three different people encourage us to re-acclimate as sisters, not just caregivers, and take a trip together. So DeeDee and I are headed to Oahu for a week. We are looking forward to it for many reasons!
Weekly Household Tip
Here’s a tip from Lynne!
Have you ever used lemons to clean your home?
I have a great idea for cleaning your silverware and making it sparkle!
Slice a lemon in half and place one half of the lemon in the utensil holder in your dishwasher, with your silverware. Run the cycle as usual, and enjoy your sparkling cutlery!
Discard the lemon half when finished. 🙂

It’s time for all things fresh and new, but we are still loving the winter posts, too! We have rain for at least three days this week… day one was today!

Your trip with your sister sounds wonderful. This is a perfect time to get away. Thanks so much for sharing my holiday cupboard. I’m ready for Spring!!
Thank you, Debra. Yes, we figured we needed to go before spring break, and if we waited until after, it wouldn’t feel the same. We got great deals, and we are very excited to go!
Hi Julie! Sending love and prayers for you and your sister. January marks seven years since I lost my mom. We thought she would be under Hospice care for months and she died after one week, so I can relate to what you’ve been through. I hope you and your sister enjoy your trip! Thanks for hosting the party and for featuring my DIY birdhouses!! Have a wonderful week!
Wow, Donna… that is SO fast! I bet it was hard to go through! Mom was on hospice a total of 7 weeks, just like my dad! But, like you, we thought we would have months… and hospice even said we might have to go off and requalify. Sigh. Thank you for your love and prayers. We are feeling the Lord’s presence in a big way, a we are thankful for Him and His love!
I’m super excited about your trip with DeeDee. It’s well deserved! Truth be told, I’m quite jealous. Enjoy. Great features this week and I loved the lemon in the dishwasher idea too. Trying that tomorrow! Big hugs.
Thank you, dear friend. We are looking forward to the trip. And I need to try Lynne’s tip, as well!
Julie I am so sorry for your loss but I know your mom is in a good place. 🙏🏼 The service looks lovely. I am so happy you and your sister are taking the trip for so many reasons. Enjoy it friend and looking forward to hearing all about it. XO- MaryJo
Thank you, MaryJo. DeeDee and I are looking forward to some processing and healing while away, along with some blessed sister time!

So good to see you here, Esme!
Oh, my goodness. I’m so sorry for your loss.
We had a similar loss a year ago (my mother-in-law died after a mere 1.5 weeks in the hospital), and it was so sudden and shocking. The coming of spring weather was so healing for us; may it be equally healing for you.
Best wishes to you, your sister, and everyone who is grieving.
Thank you, Corrie. Yeah… it’s a bit shocking to lose one so quickly, even if you are expecting the loss. Thank you for the encouragement and kind words.
Hi Julie – I am so sorry to hear that your Mom passed away in January. It must be so difficult to process. It sounds like you all took the best care of her and that she knew how much you loved her. Thanks for sharing some of your personal life with us. Hugs to you and your family during this difficult time.
Thank you, Anna. I really appreciate your kind words and thoughts. Now to adjust to a new normal. Lots of decisions to make!
What an awesome idea and gift to reset your relationship with your sister! Have a wonderful trip, Julie!
Thanks so much, Beth!
Julie, you and DeeDee deserve this trip for all you have done for your beloved mother and for rebonding as sisters again. A month would have been better but then we would miss your blog.
Thanks, Fernie… yes, a month might be too long. I need to get back to getting some new content out on the blog, and my sister needs to get back to her husband! LOL!
I’m so sorry for your loss, Julie. But, I’m so happy for your mom! I’m sure it was quite a shock that it happened so quickly. I hope you have a wonderful trip! xo
Thanks, Pam. We are looking forward to the trip!
