Tuesday Turn About #314 Summer Kids, Home, and Patio
Tuesday Turn About #314 Summer Kids, Home, and Patio: Today we have some great tips, tricks, and inspiration for everyone. We have a little bit of kids, house, porch, and even recipes!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #314 SUMMER KIDS, HOME, AND PATIO
Last week, we featured lots of home tips.
Welcome to the final party of July 2025!
Wow, this month sped by… just like ALL the months, right?

The other day, Jelly bean #1 (my soon-to-be-10-year-old grandson) remarked to me, “Wow, the months go by so fast!” His statement made me realize that my grands are growing up! Next weekend, my #1 cinnamon jelly bean will be in the double-digits! (Can you see me sitting here shaking my head?)
Well, let’s get into some fun features that include a bit for everyone’s summer! Are you ready?
Abode Adventures
Hobby Lobby’s fall line went to 40% off today. Spring/Summer is at 66% clearance, and I keep telling myself, “You don’t need to go in early today to get anything. You really don’t need anything!” However, YOU might just need one of the 6-foot flamingos they have on sale for $66! (regularly $200). 😉

After two weeks, and no response from emails to their general collab address, I contacted customer service at Giani Countertops and asked for a direct email to their collaboration contact. I’m happy to report, I heard back from her in 24 hours, and I will be receiving a Carrara Marble Countertop Kit to use in MWA! I’m so excited, and can’t wait to use this on not just my kitchen counters, but the dinette AND the bathroom counter!
My Wee Finds
Got these Washin-Jax on Saturday… See Weekly Household Tip. 😉
These herbal Mandarin Orange Spice K-cups are a great alternative for a yummy evening beverage, or if you are simply watching your caffeine all the time!
Since MWA doesn’t have a garbage disposal, I recycle plastic bags to hold scraps from cooking and eating. I’m thinking this pretty, space-saving compost bucket might be a nice alternative. (Which reminds me, there is one at HL on sale right now, too! Wonder if they will have any when I get there.)
Weekly Household Tip
The washer I use does not have an agitator and is a front-load appliance. Not what I would choose, but it is what is kindly and generously offered to me at the ‘commune’. 😉
Enter Washin’-Jax.
These ‘portable agitators’ seem to have really helped remove dirt and oils from my laundry this weekend. My towels and whites were fluffier and softer than they have been since moving here. I’m hoping next wash-day, I’ll notice even more of a difference. (Downfall… these can’t be used with clothing with straps or delicates.)
Weekly Blogging Tip
I recently learned that our Pins may not have alt text or descriptions listed on the back-end when we pin.
To check this, click on a Pin you have pinned directly to Pinterest. Then click on the three dots at the top of the Pin and select ‘edit’. Fill in the description (with high ranking Pinterest key-words) and alt text and save.
I’ve heard that this seems to help with traffic. We’ll see, right?
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Check out our Tuesday Turn About Link Party Pinterest board! All featured posts are pinned to this board each week, IF you have a pinnable image!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
- By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.
Since HL is having it’s sale on fall items, feel free to start sharing fall posts now! But we still welcome all the summer fun, too!

I was at my local Hobby Lobby a month ago when their summer line was only at 50% off, and they had almost nothing left. I need to get there for some fall stuff before that is all gone too. That’s cool that you got your counter top stuff for free. Thanks for the party.
I went in today, before work, because everything went to 75% off. I’m happy to say, they still had the tabletop firepit/stove that I wanted. I even got two! A $42 item for $9! Woot!
Julie, thanks so much for the visit and the Link-up! I appreciate it, now off the try the Pinterest tip…Melynda@scratchmadefood!
Thanks, Melynda!
Now I need to get to Hobby Lobby to see the giant flamingo, Julie! Haha I’ll have to have a look at the Washin Jax. Congrats on the countertop kit! Thanks for hosting!
The flamingos ALL sold! Crazy!
Thanks so much Julie, and thsnk you for all the tips too!
Thank YOU, Jenna! Love having you back!
Julie,

Debbie-Dabble Blog
Thanks for the support, Deb!
Yaay – I’m so glad you got your marble kit – way to persevere! I can’t wait to see the finished product. Thanks so much for another week of inspiration. Hope you have a lovely week!
Thanks, Barbara! Hugs!
Oh my, thank you so much for the feature! That Pinterest tip is going to be a game changer. I had never heard of Washin’ Jax before. They seem like a useful addition to your washing routine. I wonder if they are safe to add into washers that do have an agitator, just for a little extra push. 🙂
You are so welcome, Kristen. You know, I’m not sure about adding them to an agitating machine. I’m sure the description would say something.
I always appreciate your blogging tips. Seriously. They have saved me more than once. I have been fed up with Pinterest for a year now. It sucks! Honestly, don’t most of us go through that feeling with all social media outlets?! First it’s the algorithms, then how much we post, then the size, or if it’s a reel, etc. I think they need to get their poop together. It’s THEIR fault more people aren’t looking/staying on their outlet. Hello, maybe some of us are sick to death of seeing ads and AI images?!
Okay, rant over. Thanks for the party! Great features. I’d like to try the chocolate orange shortbread cookies. Yum!
I’m nodding my head in a big way right now!
So happy you got your marble kit. It’s the little things that make our lives better. thanks so much for the feature for the Renaissance Entryway. I love putting together vignettes like that. Have a great week.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
You are so welcome, Lynne!
Thanks for hosting Julie! I appreciate the feature! I’m going to get some of those Mandarin Orange Spice Kcups – I need to cut back on the caffeine. 🙂
Also, who DOESN’T need a 6 foot tall flamingo??
Have an awesome week!
Too funny, Susan! They ALL sold!!!!
Thanks for the party, Julie. Hope you had a great July! My last two weeks have been spent indoors, only venturing out into the furnace that is my garden when I absolutely had to. I’m not eager for fall to arrive, but I’d like a reprieve from triple digit “feels like” temps. Sigh
Ugh! Yeah, I’m not a fan of the heat, either! Hope it’s cooled down a bit!
THANK YOU for all the great tips, Julie… and for hosting, yet again, another fabulous link up! Have a wonderful week and stay cool!
You are so welcome! Thanks for popping-in each week!
Those washin’-jax sound like a great thing! And the mandarin orange tea sounds great too. I drink a tangerine tea and it is so good (not a k-cup). Fun summertime features, and I know, I’m late, but it’s been that kind of week. Happy August!
Oh, I hope this week is better, Rita!
