Tuesday Turn About #285 Welcome 2025
Tuesday Turn About #285 Welcome 2025: Today is the first party of the year! We are featuring organizing, winter, and even Valentine’s Day posts!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT # WELCOME 2025
Last week’s party was a “whopper”.
Welcome to the first party of 2025!
Happy New Year!
Today, we have winter decor and crafts, some DIYs that include a pretty pink dresser, ducluttering tips for you (and your spouse!), plus some Valentine’s Day inspiration!
Let’s get started… Grab a cup of your fave hot drink (it’s cold everywhere!), and let’s party!
Abode Adventures
This past week, one of the temporary seasonal employees from Hobby Lobby was let go. My CSM (customer service manager) said, “Seasonal employment is over.” I replied, “Oooo, scary.” She said, “You have nothing to worry about.”
So, even though it’s not official, looks like I will be part of the permanent HL crew! Now I’m just waiting to hear from the ‘big boss’.
(BTW, Valentine’s decor is now 40% off at Hobby Lobby!)
Baby News…
Baby #8, my daughter’s little one, is taking it’s time in making an appearance here on Earth. Seems like baby is pretty comfortable in Mommy’s tummy.
Since I’m part of the birthing team, I can’t leave the area. So, going to see Clementine (1.5 hours away) will need to wait until here ‘twin’ cousin arrives! Can’t take a chance of traffic issues and/or a fast labor delivery for Nika, and me not being there for the first (and last?) delivery I get to attend.
Happy New Year…
How did you ring in the new year?
Mine was quiet, watching K-dramas and enjoying popcorn and a treat. Then, I went to my daughter’s home on New Year’s Day evening and had dinner and finished a series we’ve been watching together. Her in-laws joined in, as well, which I love, since they are also some of my closest friends!
My Wee Finds
What was your favorite gift you received this year?
Along with some generous gift cards (for my birthday, as well), here are a few lovely items I received:
- A new Bose Speaker was a complete surprise! My sister surprised me and said she wanted to do something special since it was the big 6-0 birthday!
- Do you ever ‘lose’ things between your car seat and your console? This seat gap filler should do the trick!
- My dear friend, Peggy, gifted this red blouse I had shared in a past post. It does not disappoint. Looks just like the photo! So pretty!
Weekly Household Tip
This morning, I’m batch-cooking some chicken fingers in the air-fryer. I’m going to freeze a few and see how they do, but I’ll refrigerate the others for this week’s lunches.
If you are short on time during the week, try doing a double or triple recipe and freeze for lunches and dinners for the days to come! And don’t forget to use that air-fryer!
Weekly Blogging Tip
It’s the beginning of a new year, and Google has not been kind. My traffic has taken a huge dip since the last two core updates.
So, what should we do? Well, since my hours at HL are being cut back (which is what I wanted), I will have more time to write content for YOU… the members of My Wee Abode!
Let’s get together (yeah, yeah, yeah) this year and put our best ‘feet forward’ for new content, inspiration, tips, and tricks!
I’m pointing one finger at you, and three (or more) at myself!
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Check out our Tuesday Turn About Link Party Pinterest board! All featured posts are pinned to this board each week, IF you have a pinnable image!
Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
- By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

We still have people returning Christmas, which makes great buys for those that are smart enough to go check-out the clearance wall. They get some GREAT deals that way! My daughter has still not delivered… we are patiently (or not so patiently) waiting on the Lord. His timing is best. We don’t know if it will be a girl or a boy. Excited to find out!
I remember those days of impatiently waiting around for my oldest who was more than a week late! I hope your daughter delivers soon and that all goes well.
We are STILL waiting! She is growing weary. Poor thing. But, I know the Lord’s timing is best. Always is!
Thanks so much Julie, for sharing my January farmtable top vignette this week. Hope your hours work out for you here into the new year. take care and stay well. Thanks for having us over!
Thanks, Debra! Always appreciate your comments and love!

They are a blessing, for sure!
Happy new year Julie. Congrats on the permanent position @ HL and the best of luck with the birth of your grand daughter. That’s super exciting. Hopefully by next week’s party you’ll have news for us. XO- MaryJo
Thanks, MaryJo!
HNY Julie and a big thank you for your friendly parties throughout the old! Great to receive good news about your job and another new baby due, how wonderful! It is slightly comforting to hear that it’s not just me that has lost traffic over the last year but it does make you wonder why and where it’s gone! That’s an old lady response to a technical problem that I will never understand!! But we keep battling on for the love of it come what may! Just love that red blouse – the only downside is that UK Amazon asks $77 against $22 in the US – how does that happen????
Take care – Pamela
