Tuesday Turn About #265 Fallready
Tuesday Turn About #265 Fallready: The party is still summer hot, but we are featuring some posts for the next season… fallready?!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #265 FALLREADY
Last week’s party, we started wrapping-up summer.
Welcome to the party!
We are starting to look at fall decor, DIYs, and crafts!
I know… You might be saying, “Fallready?!”
Well, we don’t want to be taken by surprise (like I am so many seasons). There is (are?) lots of prep work and supplies to be purchased, right?
Well, today will also include some recipes, as well as some last minute summer fun, and even a couple of back-to-school posts!
Are you ready?
But first…
Abode Adventures
You may have missed my post from Saturday about Food and Freedom. It’s a very honest and transparent ‘letter’ to you all sharing my history with food idolatry and how the Lord is bringing changes in me through New Life Promise. It’s long, but I hope you’ll give it a perusal. 😉
I’ve just started my 6th week of the New Life Promise, and I’ve decided to share updates once a month from this point on. So be on the look-out for monthly updates on my wellness results, every first Tuesday of the month. Sound good?

My Wee Finds
Not sure if I shared these before… but they are worth sharing again. While driving at night, this 50+ (almost 60) year old woman struggles with the car lights ‘blinding’ me. So I went on the hunt for some night-driving glasses. Safely tucked in my car console, I use these every time I drive at night.
Zucchini noodles are old news, I know. But I’ve been preparing them to compliment my chicken parm meatballs, and it’s delicious. So of course I needed a vegetable spiralizer and grater. This one is small, so it doesn’t take up much space in my tiny kitchen.
Want some privacy on a window you can’t have curtains on… or don’t want them? Or maybe you just want to hide a ugly view out your window (that would be me!). This privacy adhesive window cling will be going up on my window soon!
Weekly Household Tip
More and more I’m noticing that items requiring batteries will note “do not use rechargeable batteries”. Well, that can get expensive. But…
I’ve found that buying batteries at the local ‘dollar stores’ work just as well as the more expensive brands. That’s where I purchase my standard batteries. How ’bout you?
Weekly Blogging Tip
Today is more of a pep talk than a tip. LOTS is changing in the digital world these days. I encourage you to ‘stay the course’, write about what you love and will help your audience, do the best you can, and rest in what the Lord has planned. (‘Cuz not even an algorithm change surprises HIM!)
By the way, what’s your weather like these days? I’m still cranking-up the AC until around 7pm, so I can still enjoy a cup of decaf. Throw in some walnuts and blueberries for a snack, and I’m all set!
What is your beverage of choice these days? Well, go grab it and let’s party!
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Hi Julie! Thanks for another fun party. I dislike driving at night so I’m gong to check out those glasses. Heading over to read your wellness post. I’m so happy it has benefited you! Have a blessed week. XO- MaryJo
Thanks, MaryJo… I’m thankful, too!
Hey, Julie, I don’t think I’ve heard the term “food idolatry” but I think I understand what you mean. Whatever you are doing, if it makes you feel better and healthier (inside and out), then I sounds like a great program. And, it’s still hot here in Dallas. If I didn’t have to get out to walk Nola in the morning, we would probably hibernate until October. I love zucchini, too. (Just shared a new recipe.) I bet we roast or sauté it at least twice a week.
Yes… anything that I put before the Lord is idolatry… worshiping the creation instead of the Creator. I am feeling better, and NOT thinking about food all the time, which I LOVE! It’s 91 degrees outside right now. I’m ready for a weather break. It looks like Thursday-Saturday will be in the low 80s, so that’s much better!
Thank you so much for the feature Julie! I hope you enjoy the Denningvleis recipe, it is so delicious and yes, also quite healthy! Hope you can add it to your dinner one night on your health journey =) I know I can definitely eat it and still lose weight! (It’s the rice that’s trouble haha)
Yes… I need to stick to about 1/2 cup of rice… but I love meat, so we’re good! Just looked at your lemon almond muffins. Yum!
