Tuesday Turn About #281 Welcome December
Tuesday Turn About #281 Welcome December: Find lots of inspiration for the Christmas season, including ideas for turkey leftovers, Grinchy recipes, DIYs, and more!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #281 WELCOME DECEMBER
Last week’s party, we had some great Christmas AND Thanksgiving features!
Well, hello, December!
And hello to all the party-ers out there!
Have YOU started your Christmas decorating and crafts?

Did you have a blessed Thanksgiving?
Today, let’s take a look at some ways to use turkey leftovers, some Grinchy treats, a DIY that you might want to do in prep for the holiday dining room, and even more Christmas inspiration!
Abode Adventures
Black Friday was busy at Hobby Lobby, but Saturday was even crazier! Your local Hobby Lobby continues to receive trucks of inventory each week, and they include new Christmas items, too! Also, I’ve been told that the Spring line will start arriving the middle to end of this month. Crazy, right?
It’s time for my monthly check-in for my health and weight loss.
In the month of November, I lost a total of 3 pounds. That is the lowest amount I have lost in a month thus far. I KNOW it’s because one of my triggers for making wrong choices is exhaustion… so with working 40 hours a week at HL, you know what THAT means.
This week… I actually gained… too much! However, I was able to get meal prep in yesterday, so I’m set for success this week.
I’m not defeated or derailed… just side-tracked a bit. 😉

My Wee Finds
For Christmas, I have a few things on my wish list, which include:
- This bedside shelf… great for saving space AND keeping organized in a small home.
- More shelves for my tiny coffee station. These will be home to my pod containers.
- A new daily devotional. Paul David Tripp is one of my favorite authors.
Weekly Household Tip
This week, I’m sharing more of a health tip than a household tip.
Have you heard of red light therapy? I’ve been using a red light box on my back for my sciatica, and it is helping even more than my chiropractor. Don’t get me wrong, I still think chiros work wonders, but the red light therapy seems to be improving my back pain even more!
Google it and see what you think?
Now, let’s party!
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Check out our Tuesday Turn About Link Party Pinterest board! All featured posts are pinned to this board each week, IF you have a pinnable image!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
- By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.
It’s so fun looking through all of the link-ups! And we are seeing some new party-ers, and returning party-ers we haven’t seen for a while! So fun!
Keep the inspo coming!

Julie, thank you for adding my holiday glass candle display to the featured posts. I appreciate it very much. I hope your week is going well. Take care.
Of course, Steph!
You’ve done such a great job on your wellness journey, Julie. I know you won’t get discouraged. I will definitely look into that red light therapy. Sounds exciting! Also, I recently got a new daily devotional by Paul David Tripp, and it’s my favorite! I love it so much I’ve added it to my Christmas gift guide (which, hopefully I’ll have finished soon…) Thanks so much for hosting!
Thanks, Pam! Did you get the New Morning Mercies, or his other one? Big hugs!
Yes, I got New Morning Mercies! I really like it a lot. Hugs back!
Julie,
I can only imagine how busy this past weekend was at Hobby lobby…I try to stay out f that store because I would come home with the entire store for sure!!! Don’t get discouraged on your healthy journey….I have been there and I am still trying to take off the weight I gained this year because of Joe’s passing…I did lose 5 pounds prior to Thanksgiving but I have not got on the scale since then….
My Link Ups are # 10,11 and 12!!
Thanks so much for hosting this charming party!!! I truly do appreciate it as I do know the time involved with it….
Hugs,

Thank you Deb… I’m not discouraged. Looking forward to an easier schedule come mid-December.
The longer you diet the harder it is to drop weight because the body just adjusts to the lower calories, and I’m sure it’s extra hard during the holidays. Glad that red light is working for you. I heard we had good Black Friday sales this year! I was an on-line shopper this year.
Thanks for the support, Amy! Yes… I am online shopping, too!
Thanks so much for the party Julie! I’m sure Hobby Lobby is a busy place this time of year, glad the red light therapy is helping your back. Don’t get discouraged on the weight gain, you’re doing great and will be back on track now! Happy December~
Thanks, Jenna. I’m not discouraged. I’m just looking ahead to slower days/schedule.
Wonderful features, I love the coffee filter reindeer! Your comment about red light therapy was timely, I have been thinking about it for some time, yeah, sciatica…a previous co-worker now a massage therapist recommends it, but it was timely to hear about it from someone who is seeing results, thank you!
Well, that is perfect timing for sure!
Thanks for having us over, Julie, and for the red light therapy tip. Happy December!!
Always blessed to have you here, Debra!
Thanks so much for featuring my Night Before Christmas tablescape! I added a link to your blog at the end of that post.
You are so welcome, and thank YOU!
Hi there, Julie, thanks for hosting. You’re doing an amazing job, not defeated, only derailed, and I know that you’re back on track this week, go for it.
My entries this week are numbered #35+36
Hope you will join SSPS
Thanks, Esme! Always happy to have you here!
Thanks so much for the party Julie and for making my marshmallow tree part of the features this week! So much inspiration here today! Please give yourself some grace Julie. I have worked in retail over the holidays and it is extremely stressful. You’ll get through and be back on track in no time!
Of course, Denise! I’m thankful that my body is finally adjusting.
Thanks so much for hosting this link party. I am enjoying looking at all the Christmas posts everyone is sharing. Have a wonderful week!
So glad to have you with us!
I am so glad you didn’t let a few lbs. ruin your progress on your weight goals. But it is a whole new lifestyle so get used to it. I need to start decorating so see you later.
Yes, Fernie.. I agree. Thanks for the encouragement, my friend.
Always a ton of wonderful inspiration each week, Julie! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving! Creatively, Beth
Thanks, Beth!
Although I’m late to the party, (I had my cleaners over yesterday) I hope you had an amazing holiday, Julie. Cheers!
Julie, celebrate the small steps as much as the big ones on your health journey! Your combined schedule of working at HL, blogging and being with family during the holidays can be so hard. You’re doing a terrific job! These features are so wonderful to inspire the spirit of the season. I’m happy to have my table to add today, but I’ve been deep in the project of relocating my sister from SC to WV. You know all about moving! Thank you for hosting us. And did you say spring in mid-December???? Holy cow!
I hope the move is going well! That’s a lot at this time of year, for sure! Yes… and can you believe that HL brings out Christmas starting in the summer? ALL of our Christmas ornament balls are GONE!
Happy Friday, Julie! Thanks for hosting this festive link up each week! We always find so many great tips and fun posts to check out! Thanks for sharing an update on your health journey! You’ve done well with the holidays in full swing! I’ll be thinking of you this weekend – I’m sure your days are long at Hobby Lobby and I pray that customers are kind and patient!
Thank you, Laura… Customers are GREAT! We won’t talk about the manager. 😉
Thank you for hosting and for featuring my Turkey Pot Pie! And just imagine what the gain would have been with out being aware of what you ate. I don’t want to know what mine would have been if I hadn’t been in enjoying food in moderation or had quit working out!
That’s a great way to look at it, Jenny! Thanks! And you are so welcome!
