Refresh Your Mantel With Spring Decor
Spring is in the air and with it comes our first Pinterest Challenge for the season! Let’s take a look at how to refresh your mantel with spring decor. Who knows, you may even be able to find some tips to spruce up your TV area with some media console spring decor!
REFRESH YOUR MANTEL WITH SPRING DECOR
Today is our first Pinterest Challenge of the spring season!
And I have a confession to make.
But first…
What Is a Pinterest Challenge?
Today is Pinterest Challenge day and 15+ bloggers are sharing decor inspiration and projects with you!
The Pinterest Challenge is brought to you by our hostess, Cindy from County Road 407.
Cindy chooses an inspirational photo from Pinterest and/or the Internet and then blogging-buddies get to replicate the decor or project that is pictured, adding our own twist! We have a blast, and we hope you are as inspired as we are!
Cindy, thank you so much for putting this together for us each month! You are just grand! 😉
If you are popping over here from French Ethereal, welcome! Barbara loves all things French and has recently been adding her own style to her new home. She is enjoying every minute of it, too!
And a special welcome to all of the MWA fam, too!
Refreshing Your Media Console Spring Decor?
Let me be honest with you…
Originally, this was SUPPOSED to be all about a refresh for my media console. Then, I realized I didn’t take a good enough look at the inspiration photo and had to switch things up at the last minute!
However, these same spring decor tips and tricks CAN be used on either a media console or mantel. You know how we like double-duty around here!
The Inspiration – Refresh Your Mantel with Spring Decor
So, let me show you our beautiful inspiration photo from Deborah at Hip and Humble Style. On each side of the photo, note the elements that stood out to me.
After taking a closer look at this photo, I found the inspiration was easy for me! You know why? Because I had all the similar elements, except for one, already at MWA!

Easy Steps to Refresh Your Mantel with Spring Elements
Today, I’m going to simply show you how I used the inspiration from Hip and Humble Style for my ‘faux’ mantel (no fireplace means my window bench does double duty).
No fuss, no muss! But so spring-y fresh. And, it definitely rings true of the photo from Deborah’s post, but with my own flair!
Let’s take a look closer!
To the left, instead of black candlesticks, there are black lanterns with candles and a bit of boxwood.
And instead of ivy, I have a little metal pot with more faux boxwood! Have you used boxwood in your home?
For more springtime inspiration, check out one of my past spring home tours, Part 1 and Part 2.
Deborah has a large, round mirror in a black frame.
Three ‘starburst’ mirrors in black and silver have been hiding in my stash since I moved into my little loft.
Bam!
I love the three mirrors lined-up and leaning against the wall. Simple, light, and airy. (And, dang it, just a wee bit ‘off spaced’. #bloggerlife)
And last, but not least, the white pitcher with the pink blossoms. The pink blossoms were a steal at Michael’s at five bucks for three branches. Here is something similar.
Adding a free spring printable next to the pitcher might be pretty, too!
The yellow candles against the black and green are so pretty… and they smell like pear blossoms!
These mirrors make me happy… they have found a home for this spring season!
This spring refresh for a mantel (or a media console) was easy and fun. Do you like the twists to the inspiration this month?
Now, remember, we have 15 more bloggers that are sharing their inspiration today, as well! Next in line is Alexandra from EyeLove Knots! This is Alex’s very first Pinterest Challenge with us, so be sure to hop on over and show her some love!
And there’s even more decor and craft fun when you click on the thumbnails below!
Hope you enjoyed this quick and easy spring refresh for a mantel… or media console! Let me know in the comments how you plan to add spring elements to your home this year!
Your media console looks great decorated for spring. I’m a huge fan of faux boxwood and love how realistic what is produced is these days. Your pot of boxwood looks great with your two black lanterns. The mirrors that you used look really nice as does the white pitcher filled with spring branches. I always enjoy seeing how you decorate My Wee Abode for the season.
Thank you for the kind words, Paula… you and Crissy are the co-queens of wonderful comments and support! Hugs!
Julie,
You did a wonderful job with your console. The pink, mirrors and boxwood works great. I’m a big fan of boxwood, it’s timeless.
Cindy
Thank you, Cindy! Boxwood is so lovely, isn’t it?
Really pretty, Julie. We’re still in snow country but on Ash Wednesday I generally start to spring things up a little. This is such delightful motivation!
Thanks, Jeanie… I wish we had a bit more rain this season, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. So, bring on the spring!
Yes to your grouping! I adore that it is on a side table.
Thank you for the sweet words, Laura. 🙂
Julie, I love the pops of greenery. I didn’t see those flowers at our Michaels, wish I had, they are so pretty! (I had to make my own branches.) Your media console looks fresh and ready for spring!
Your mantel is perfect, Pamela! And your branches look great, too! Thanks for the sweet words and welcome to the group! ;-).
Julie your Spring decor is so pretty. Love using faux flowers and greenery in my home. The boxwood looks amazing in your lantern and in the pail. Love the touches you share. Very pretty.
Aw, thanks, Terrie! I’m surprised at how much I enjoy this look… it was so fast and easy! Always love doing the PC with you!
Hi Julie! I love how you’ve taken the inspiration mantel idea and brought it to your window bench!! The mirrors are perfect there. 💕 Happy to be on the tour with you again this month.
Hugs,
Barb
Thanks, Barb… It was definitely a fun one for me this month! Always enjoy hopping with you, too, my friend!
Love the white pitcher with the pink! Our mantel is so plain, you always have such beautiful ideas! Thanks for the twosday blog!
Hehe! You ever want some help with your mantel, you let me know. We can shop your house and do something easy. I’ll give you a couple tips I’ve learned, too! 😉 Hugs, dear friend!
Great job thinking outside the box Julie! You’ve inspired us to do the same. Always love your ideas. Thanks so much for joining in this month.
Thanks, Cindy… I really enjoyed the challenge this month. It came together so easily for me, and that always helps with my work schedule! Hugs!
I don’t think anything says spring more than blooming branches. Your pretty blooms in the pitcher are perfectly balanced with the green boxwoods!
Aw, thanks so much, Chloe. That means a lot coming from you! 😉
I love your console. It has that same warm wood of the inspiration photo. Those branches are gorgeous. I may have to go grab some of those.
Those branches were so cheap, too! I thought it was a pretty good substitute! No time for a DIY this week… company is a-coming to MWA! 😉
HI Julie, I love that you decorated the console! I thought about doing that too. And, i love the stems and the greenery.
It looks perfect for the space! Happy Day Julie! Laura
Thanks, Laura… I really enjoyed this challenge! Fun ‘hopping’ with you!
You did a fabulous job on this, my friend! I like how you had a riser to create different for your black lanterns. The mirrors are so perfect for this challenge, too! I can almost smell those pear candles. We don’t often think about scent in our little vignettes, but I’m sure it creates such an inviting spring vibe at MWA. Love your spin on this challenge, as always!
Thank you, Crissy-dear! This was a fun one, that’s for sure! Loved your inspired mantel, too!
I’m just loving all the variety today! Your low-down version is a fun addition to the bunch:) The lanterns with the candles and a bit of greenery makes me want to go out and buy some; they are wonderful in any season, aren’t they? Your 3 smaller mirrors instead of 1 big one is genius!
Thank you so much, Lora… this was super fun to put together! I really enjoy seeing everyone’s take on the photo! (And, yes, my black lanterns are out all year long!)
Nicely done, Julie! My favorites are the lanterns and the boxwood. All that lush green and yellow against the black – so perfect for spring!
Thanks, Janet… I’m loving a touch of black in my decor more and more these days! 😉
Love that tall pitcher with the blooms. I’ve been looking for one about that size. Fabulous job of pulling all the elements together to work on you console. Lovely Julie!
I use that pitched all the time! Thanks for your encouragement, friend!
Julie, everything you do is so cute!
Hugs,
Rachelle
