TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #232 CHRISTMAS GINGERBREAD LOVE
Want even MORE Christmas ideas and inspo? Check out last week’s party.
Welcome to the second party for this December!
This week, I’m sharing all things gingerbread, DIY ‘soldiers’ standing at attention, PLUS a classic Christmas decor post! We’re loving all the Christmas inspiration!
Lynne is still spending time with her family. I’m sure she will share what it going on her life when she returns.
Adventures at the Abode
Lancaster, PA is bright and sunshiny today (well, Monday, when I’m writing this). BUT, it did snow during the night, and the ground had a blanket of white when I woke up!
The first few days I was here, we had even MORE snow! I had asked the Lord for at least one day of snow, and He was kind enough to give us TWO days (now three)! It was never forecasted on the news (or on my app), but GOD had it on His forecast for me!
Pray for Mom…
Mom came down with a virus the day after I left. It’s quite bad, and she is not doing well. Whenever my sister or I go on vacation, SOMETHING always happens to push us to rest in the Lord even more! Please be praying for Mom’s quick healing. This is definitely a trial. We are SUPER grateful that Mom was placed on hospice this past week!
We also received news on Saturday that my children’s father is quite ill. I won’t share details at this point, but he is in the hospital, so please be praying for him and my kids.
Enough Debbie-downer info! God is good, even through these hard things, and we trust Him to be glorified in all of this!
Our weekly tips will return after the first of the year.
Now… let’s looks at some ‘purdy’ and fun festive features!

Mom is doing better, praise the Lord! We have seen Him work in amazing ways this past 1.5 weeks. Thank you, Barbara.
Thank you so much for hosting Julie! I’m happy to be joining in this week (#36) with my Christmas Home Tour. Awesome weekly features you picked…I’m lovin’ all the gingerbread stuff I’m seeing this year, and I loved seeing your diy ornaments that you made, I always love anything made from velvet…from clothing to decor, it’s just so cozy. I’m praying for your family…that’s difficult any time of the year, but Christmas especially. Like you said, even through the hard times God is good, He will see you through… I believe he carries us through those times, He carries us, and He helps us to feel his presence more closer than ever, during the difficult times… and sometimes we even see and feel it through little things He does, like in your case, an unexpected snowfall that you’d been praying for and dreaming of. I had to smile when you mentioned that, that’s our God. Thank you for sharing that. God is good, I have to say, he’s answered so many prayers and been my help, I believe he’ll help us all through every hard place, that’s just how He is. Wishing you Christmas Blessings.
Thank you, Christie! He is so good, all the time. And we see how barely qualifying for hospice just before I left was God’s plan to help my sister care for Mom while I was gone. My sister would have been in a real pickle if we had not had hospice. ALL GOD!
Firstly thank you so much for hosting ladies. Julie, prayers for Mom and family.
I linked up this week with = 43+44. It would be awesome if you care to share your own links with us M-S at SeniorSalonPitStop. You will find it under BLOGGING
Thanks, Esme. Mom IS doing better, praise the Lord!
Oh no Julie, I am so sorry to hear of the illness that more than one person is dealing with. Praying for you all, thank you as always for hosting 🙂 Hugs xx Tanya
Yes, the hospice nurse said that MANY of her patients are dealing with this. Her throat was SO bad! So thankful she is feeling so much better as of yesterday.
I pray that your mom will recover quickly from her illness. I hope you have some peace of mind while you are visiting Yvonne. I want you to enjoy your visit.
My sister has done an AWESOME job while I’ve been away. The Lord’s ordainment and sovereignty has been see in BIG ways. Even though Mom BARELY was approved for hospice, her virus had laid here out BIG time! It was scary. I almost left to go home on Monday night. We are SO thankful she was placed on hospice just a couple days before. We can’t even imagine what we would have done without the wonderful nurses and help! But last night, she was actually able to swallow, walk, and was much more alert. Praise God!
So sorry your mom is sick, but so glad she is on hospice now; that will give you and your sister some relief for the holidays. Enjoy your time away and the snow! Thanks for hosting:)
Thanks, Lora… Mom took a turn for the better yesterday! God is good, and heard the prayers of His elect!
It’s always so wonderful when we see how much God loves us, and even our small requests are his pleasure. like your snowfall. I know you’re having a wonderful time. I’m praying your mom will be back soon. take care of yourself. big hugs your way.

Creatively, Beth
Thanks, Beth. It seems Mom had a great day yesterday, but not so good today. Alzheimer’s… the only thing normal is that it’s never normal.
Hi Julie. Thanks for the party & I am praying for your family. I hope you can enjoy your visit and take pictures of that snow! Be well friend. XO- MaryJo
Yes! I got pics of the snow. Mom seems to be doing better, but she also had a harder time today. We’ll see. It’s so hard to know with Alzheimer’s.
Julie, I am glad you got away, and you are enjoying the East Coast and some snow. I am so sorry that your mom has become ill. I am adding her to my prayer list this week. I was down for two weeks with a virus. There are so many things going around. I hope you are able to relax and enjoy your trip. Thank you for featuring my gingerbread ornaments. I appreciate the feature so much.
Lifting up prayers for your family members and for you, Julie, as you navigate and support through it all! Thanks so much for hosting! 💕
