TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #335 NEW YEAR PREP

At the last party, we celebrated Christmas!

Welcome to the last party of 2025!

Did you have a blessed Christmas?

Are you ready to get the new year started?

The party is back after a week-long break, and we have some yummy recipes for your New Year’s celebration, some great tips for winter decor, and more!

So let’s get this party started!

Abode Adventures

How was your Christmas celebration?

We had 30 adults and 12 children at ours! WHEW! With the rain pouring here in So Cal, that meant that EVERYONE was inside!

It went off without a hitch, and we were surprised at how easy the day progressed. The kids got along great and we all had wonderful time!

The rain continues…

The rain subsided by this past Saturday.

Unfortunately, my trailer is still leaking. This time, it wasn’t as bad.

But, the rain is returning on Wednesday, so I’m being a bit more proactive, as there are 5 days of rain in the forecast, a break for one day, and then it starts again! (We’re struggling a bit trying to find out where the leak is coming from… in my trailer, not the sky!)

My Wee Finds

Here are some items I received as gifts that you might enjoy as well:

  • Sterling Silver Snowflake Earrings (I received these TWICE! Did anyone else have issues with Amazon neglecting to remove purchased items from their wish list? This happened several times in our family!)
  • Folding Cell Phone Stand (My kids have a hard time hearing me when I set my phone on the speaker end. This phone stand eliminates that issue, and it’s easy to move around.)
  • Flannel Hanging Earring Organizer (The only jewelry I wear are earrings. So this organizer is a must, especially since I received three new pairs of earrings this Christmas/Birthday.)
  • Speaking of earrings… these Swarovski Una Angelic stud earrings were a fave of mine from my son and daughter-in-love. Aren’t they gorgeous?!

Weekly Household Tip

If you are getting ready to put your Christmas decor away, don’t forget to use the ToteScan app! It’s a real game-changer!

Weekly Blogging Tip

My son, who works in the digital marketing field, sent me this article a couple months ago on SEO in the ‘black box era’. It’s worth the read.

Now, let’s get to the party!

Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

I’m finishing up this post after my 6 hour shift at Hobby Lobby today. I open tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9am… and Christmas goes on sale at 80% off!

Hope my customer aren’t too disappointed with how little we have left (though the garland section is still VERY full!) I’m betting we have 100 customers at the door first thing!

Looking forward to more winter posts, DIYs, organizing and new recipes at this week’s party!

Happy New Year (early)!

Thank you for the party, and Happy New Year to you, Julie!

  2. Julie,
Unfortunately, we had to postpone our Christmas Eve celebration because my son Jim, DIL Danielle and the twins were all sick…

  4. there is something quite lovely (or loving?) about crowding 30 folks together and yet still a good time is had. Blessed, I call it! Thanks for hosting, and now on to that leak…PS I know how that can be.

  6. SO glad you had a lovely holiday Julie! Thanks for sharing your gifts – those Swarovski earrings are stunners!! And thanks too for featuring my winter flower arrangement. That’s so kind of you. Here’s to a happy – and dry – New Year’s! Good luck, and thanks again!

  7. Julie those leaks are sometimes hard to find…I hope you are able to locate the problem. I love Hobby Lobby but I can never leave there empty handed, I can’t imagine working there, I would probably never get a full paycheck. LOL Happy New Year, Hugs

    1. So funny… I started working at HL when I moved into the trailer. No room for more decor than I already have (and am not using at the moment!). However, I do spend a bit on the grands, for sure!
