Tuesday Turn About #254 Patriotic Summer Fun
Tuesday Turn About #254 Patriotic Summer Fun: Looking for some ideas and projects for the summer? How ’bout some patriotic ideas for the holidays? Today, we have LOTS of inspo for you!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #254 Patriotic Summer Fun
Last week’s party featured spring and summer tips.
Welcome to the party!
I hope everyone had a lovely long Memorial Day weekend!
Are you starting to think about summer… and the summer holidays? July 4th will be here before you know it!
This week, let’s take a look at some patriotic summer ideas to get us all ready for those holidays in plenty of time!
We have tablescapes, recipes, crafts and more summer fun inspo for this week’s party!
Abode Adventures
This past weekend, I went to visit my son and his family up north (it’s about a 1.5 hour drive). I stayed Thursday and Friday night. We enjoyed having a two day garage sale that made a nice little chunk of change, and we all went to linner on Saturday. After linner, my son and DIL went on a coffee date while the grands and I watched a movie together.
Yesterday, I went on a hike with my daughter and her fam, including her in-laws who are close friends of mine, as well. Then, back to my daughter’s home for some yummy sandwiches. The grandparents left at 1:30, so we could all get some rest in our own homes! 😉

My Wee Finds
Currently, I’m looking at replacing the sofa in the trailer’s slider. There is only about 66″ of width available, and I would really like to keep it a sofa bed so the grands can use it when they spend the night. Here are some of the current ones I’m looking at:
- 3-in-1 Convertible Couch: This one give me extra space if I wanted to add a small side table, but I do lose the storage space underneath that my current jack-knife sofa has.
- Best Choice Products Linen Futon: This one even has a cupholder! Plus, I can add baskets underneath for storage. Lots of colors, too!
- Flamaker Faux Leather Futon: This one has a cupholder, too (kinda works like a sidetable). Not sure I like the faux leather… and it might ‘squeak’ when you sleep on it! 😉
- Flamaker Corduroy Futon: Not sure I like the fabric… what do you think? Still able to store things underneath!
Do you have any suggestions for a futon or sofa sleeper?
Weekly Household Tip
Though I don’t have a pet, lots of my friends and family do! And pet hair on the sofas and chairs can be a problem.
Next time you want to do a quick pet-hair clean up, slip on a pair of rubber gloves and skim your hands across the upholstery. It should easily create a ‘hair ball’ that is simple to pick up and toss!
Weekly Blogging Tip
If you struggle with staying focused on writing a blog post, here’s a tip that REALLY helps me!
Take your laptop, notebook, pen, and phone and head to your nearest library, coffee house, or restaurant that offers free Wifi and work there! You won’t be distracted by the kitchen dishes calling your name, or your favorite Kdrama whispering “iri oseyo” (come here).
Oh, and be sure to purchase dinner or a treat while you are at the food establishment. It’s only right, and sometimes you can even write it off for tax purposes!
Now… let’s get to some features!
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
- By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.
It was just so fun looking through all the posts from this week! Thank you all for joining me at the party. It’s truly a highlight of each week for me!
Sounds like you had a great Memorial Day weekend. We stayed home as we just had a vacation the week of Mother’s Day. We did one day of shopping for garden plants and things, then the rest was spent getting our vegetable garden ready. And wow! Thanks for the tip about pet hair. I’m gonna try that.
Sounds like you have a lovely day, as well. Gardening is so fun! Let me know how the pet-hair tip works for you!

Yes, I like that first one, too… But the larger ones with the cupholders/table in the middle would give a larger sleep space, plus storage underneath! I found more after I post, as well. We’ll see!
You had a great weekend! Wonderful! I apologize, I linked up a book review and I’m not sure it fits the guidelines. Let me know. Thank you!
It’s fine! Book reviews are ‘family friendly’, too! Glad to have you with us, Olivia!
Thanks so much!
Of course!
Some great features here. Thanks so much for hosting the party.

Hope you had a nice weekend, too, Debra!
Thank you for the feature! Blessings to you for this season.
You, too, Sherry. My mom spelled her name the same way. You don’t see it too often. 🙂
Oh my goodness, Julie! I was enjoying all the patriotic goodness you featured this week and then saw our “This is the Day” post also highlighted! Thank you so much! I am ever grateful for the ways in which God blessed me that day and ever since and I love any opportunity I get to share my story/His story with others! THANK YOU! Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 💕 Laura
You are so welcome… and so thankful the Lord ordained you to enjoy your family and friends here on Earth for a longer time.
Hey Julie,
Thank you so much for hosting! Congratulations on getting your new abode, it’s super nice. I know you are glad to be in your new home now and all set up for this new chapter, and I can imagine how excited you are to be getting started on making it your own by slowly putting your own touches in it. I can’t wait to see what all you do. Have a great week!
Christie from Christie’s Mobile Home Diary
Thanks, Christie… there is a lot to do, and I’m excited to share it with others.
Oh how I wish I’d known that dog hair clean up tip when I had a whole zoo at our house back in the day! But great to know if we ever do manage to get another dog. Love the blogging tip too – coffee shops can be so cozy! Thanks so much for the ideas and the party Julie! I hope you find the perfect couch!
Thanks, Barbara… Wow, to go from a ‘zoo’ to no pets? That’s unusual. Always happy to have you with us at the party! The sofa will come later. I have blinds on the way, then it will be taking down the border and then painting… one little area at a time!
Glad you had a wonderful holiday weekend! Can’t believe it’s time for summer! Thanks for hosting and sharing my patriotic decor ideas!! I appreciate it so much! Have a great week!
I know… the seasons come and go so quickly, especially as we age!

Hi Julie! What a fun party and it sounds like you had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend. Our son was home from college since his girlfriend was graduating in San Francisco. It was so nice to celebrate together and have him home. Thanks so much for the feature and can’t wait to see what pull-out you choose. XO- MaryJo
Oh, I’m so glad you got to spend some time with your son. What a blessing!
Julie, thank you for featuring my painted glasses project. Painting thrift store glasses in red, white, and blue would be a great 4th of July project.
You are so welcome!
Great party this week. I love the red white and blue so much. Thanks SO MuCH for featuring my post this week!
You are more than welcome, Linda!
