Tuesday Turn About #316 August Happenings
Tuesday Turn About #316 August Happenings: The party has started, and we have back-to-school, summer ideas, and even some early fall fun!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #316 AUGUST HAPPENINGS
We had a recipe palooza at last week’s party.
The party has started! Welcome!
We’ve got all kinds of August ‘happenings’ this week!

For many, school has already started! Crazy, right?
Well, we’ve got some back-to-school features, late-summer-early-fall ideas, and even some features that are just for fun!
Let’s get started! But first…
Abode Adventures
School has definitely started in my area… You know how I know? The ‘hooligans’ from the high school that is located across from Hobby Lobby are back. 😔
The other day, I had a young high school girl checking out at my register, and she had a front-row seat for the shenanigans that her fellow students were pulling in the store… including screeching and screaming at the tops of their lungs (there were about 6 boys). She was so embarrassed. She even yelled at them as they were being escorted out, “Guys, that is totally unacceptable! You need to respect the store and others!”
She got a gold-star in my book! 😉
The kitchen countertops are on hold because…
My #5 marshmallow jelly bean is having a procedure…
… on Thursday morning. He’s had a lymph node that has been growing for the last two to three months, with no other apparent symptoms. After the ultrasound, the radiologist ordered a needle biopsy. Little ones are unable to lie still for the 1-hour procedure, so he will have general anesthesia for this one.
So, instead of doing my countertops on Wednesday and Thursday (I need two days to successfully renovate them), I’ll be spending the night at my daughter’s and SIL’s on Wednesday and taking care of the other three jelly beans on Thursday while my marshmallow has his procedure.
Please pray that the procedure goes well and the doctors find answers, and that we can wait patiently, trusting in the Lord’s perfect timing and goodness. Thank you!

My Wee Finds
This weekend, my #1 cinnamon jelly bean turned 10! Crazy!
He had completely outgrown his rollerblades, so my son, DIL, and I purchased these best-selling rollerblades from Amazon. He was VERY excited!
My grandson and I have also found a new hobby to do together on “G-days”. It’s fuse bead crafts. Have you heard of it? Very relaxing and fun! So, I bought this little fuse bead pattern book for him to work with, as well.
My magnesium glycinate was running low this week, so I needed to restock on my favorite Designs for Health brand. This helps with sleep and keeping me regular, as well. 😉
Weekly Household Tip
Okay… I know I have shared several microfiber cloths that are great for wiping down the shower. But, I think I have a NEW favorite… again!
These Scrub Daddy microfiber cloths are SUPER absorbent! I’m talking amazing! I’ve used them for two days and, so far, I couldn’t be more impressed! (FYI, they are 50% LESS at Hobby Lobby.)
Weekly Blogging Tip
With ChatGPT being all the rage these days, I don’t use it to write my posts. However, I DO use it for asking for info and other writings, such as, “Please write a Pinterest description for _____, using two sentences with Pinterest high ranking keywords.”
This also works for checking keywords for Google. Not sure if it helps, but we’ll try anything these days, right?
Now, grab a cold drink (because that’s what we all need in this weather), and let’s party!
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Check out our Tuesday Turn About Link Party Pinterest board! All featured posts are pinned to this board each week, IF you have a pinnable image!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
- By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.
Fall is just around the corner! We’ve had a couple of cool mornings this week, which has been nice. However, fall weather is still in the distant future for those of us living in So Cal!
Despite the weather, I’m looking forward to seeing all the fall posts! Keep ’em coming, new AND past faves!
