TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #230 CHRISTMAS TREAT GIFTS
Last week’s party was all about holiday hype!
Welcome to this week’s party!
We hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving!
If you haven’t already started, are Christmas shenanigans going on in your home now?
This week, I thought it would be fun to share some yummy recipes that you can make and give as gifts to your family, friends, and neighbors.
Last year, I made butterhorn cookies galore! LOTS of me neighbors benefited from the fun I had making these delicious cookies. And talk about delicious!
Adventures at the Abode
Our Thanksgiving day was blessed with lots of family and a few friends joining our festivities. We even had a turkey snafu that made for a bit of stress on my end, but the Lord worked it all out in the end. I need to remember to rest in Him, even in the small things!
We had planned to have Mom with a caregiver the whole holiday, but the Lord had different plans there, too! Between my sister, a dear friend that was with us for the holiday, and me, we were able to keep Mom entertained and happy for most of the day.
Caregiving Break…
In exciting news, I’m off for 11 days of respite/vacation starting Monday. Visiting Pennsylvania a couple years ago was so restful and relaxing, and I’m looking forward to returning and seeing Stonegable in all it’s Christmas glory, and spending some refreshing time with Yvonne (and Bobby, too!). This time, Suzy from Worthing Court will be joining us for some of the time, as well! To say I’m excited is an understatement.
I’m thankful for a sister that is willing to give me this extended time off and take care of Mom while I’m gone.
Our weekly tips will return after the beginning of the year!

This photo popped up on my Instagram feed and I was delighted that Jen from Cincy Shopper had shared it here at the party! I don’t know about you, but I’m def going to try this sugar cookie fudge recipe this year… for gifts AND for the family!

These sweet little reindeer treats are easy to make and will bring lots of joy to your children’s friends (and parents). Check out the simple-to-make recipe from Arlene at Flour on My Face.

Hot Chocolate bombs are here to stay, and I think these hot chocolate spoons are, too! Take a look at how fun and easy these are to make at The Wooden Spoon Effect.

Thank you for hosting. 😊 Have a wonderful week.
Thanks for joining, Steph!
Thank you Julie! Your trip sounds wonderful, so happy you can get away and relax with friends! Safe travels~
I’m very excited, and can’t wait!
Enjoy your time off and visits with Yvonne and Suzy!
Thank you, Rita! I hoping for a wonderful and rest filled time!
Enjoy your time away….how fun!!
Thanks so much, Rachel!
Julie.
Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I am so happy you are taking some time away for yourself!! It is so important for Caregiver’s to do so….My sister is taking for her husband who has Alzheimer’s and sadly, is almost like a prisoner in her home as she has little in the way of help with him….
Thanks so much for hosting this delightful party each and every week!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links and choosing Features!!! Thank You!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Deb
I can’t even imagine being my mom’s ONLY caregiver. I actually don’t think I would do it. We thought long and hard about having Mom stay with me, and the siblings agreed to help!
Have fun and dress warm!! Thanks for having us over!
Thanks, Debra… I borrowed my sister’s warm jacket (she has needed it for her vacations), and I got some more warm pjs, and even a free scarf from Kohl’s! Thanks for joining the party.
Julie, have a wonderful “restful” get-away. You deserve it. Please say hello to Yvonne and Suzy – two of my favorite people. You girls have a wonderful time together and know that we are all jealous. Hugs to you all.
I actually thought twice (actually three times) on whether to share the news of going to PA. But, I know *I* would want to rejoice with you all for special times! Like when you’ve been able to go see Karianne (am I remembering correctly?)! Thanks for the love, Carol!
Julie,
How wonderful for the three of you to enjoy to relaxing time together. Life is often so busy, and for those of us who spend so much time caring for others, breaks like this are much needed. Looking forward to hearing about it! 🙂
Yes… this will be my first real vacation in over two years. And first longer time away since starting to take care of Mom. I’m hoping I come back refreshed, and more patient, compassionate, and loving!
HI Julie and Lynn, Thank you so much for hosting, I visited you via Tuesday Turn About #230

Hi Julie! Have the best time on your trip and enjoy your time with bloggy friends. Glad to hear it all worked out for your Thanksgiving festivities. We have a lot to be thankful for friend. Thanks for hosting and “see” ya when you get back. XO- MaryJo
Thanks, MaryJo… I’m so looking forward to some extended time from home! Yes, God is good, all the time. Much to be thankful for!
Shocker – I am here on time and able to link up! 😉 So thanks for the party. Super excited for you and I know you’ll have a fantastic time with Yvonne and Suzy. Safe travels and I hope you are rested and worn out from all the fun at the same time.
Woot! So glad you are with us this week! And thanks! I need to come back rested, but hopefully not worn out. Last time, I didn’t feel worn out at all. We have very little planned, and lots of time cozy-ing up at Stonegable! 😉
Julie,
I know how hard it is to be a caregiver. My sister is the caregiver for my Mom and being so far away is hard. I try to get up there every 2 months but that is a small part. She is amazing.
I know you will have a great time on your vacation. Bundle up!
I actually was able to stop by and share #62.
Have a relaxing time.
Hugs,
Bev
Thanks, Beverly! Yes… I’ve got all the warm clothes I need… I think! 😉 If not, great excuse for shopping!
Hi Julie! I am SO glad you are getting a break and your trip to PA sounds like it will be fun! Quite a change to go from CA to PA. The Almond Bundt recipe looks amazing. Thanks for hosting and happy holidays.
Thank you! Yes, it is very different there. This will be my second time going… once before in the fall. It was an amazing and refreshing time. Hoping for the same this time!
Oh and hey – bring a warm coat. It was 16 degrees this morning in upstate NY.
I hope what I have will be sufficient! Thanks for the tip!
Thank you so much for hosting Julie! Have fun and stay warm 🙂 Hugs xx Tanya
Thanks, Tanya! I have my winter jacket, scarf, gloves, long socks and boots all ready to go! 😉
Julie, I’m so glad that you get to enjoy some much-deserved “me” time. Safe travels, friend!
Thanks, Jen. I’m looking forward to being refreshed, and loving on our friends!
Such a yummy, creative, and inspirational collection of features, Julie! Have a wonderful week! Creatively, Beth
Thanks, Beth!
