Tuesday Turn About #279 Cross Holidaytion : Today, we are doing a little bit of Thanksgiving and the first Christmas features of the year! It’s all about “cross-holidaytion”.

TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #279 CROSS HOLIDAYTION

Last week’s party was all about preparing for Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the party!

This week, we are doing a bit of Thanksgiving, and a bit more of Christmas…

…My dear friend Yvonne from Stonegable coined the phrase “cross holidaytion”, and that is what we are doing!

We gotta start finishing up prep for Thanksgiving, and thinking about prepping for Christmas, right? Being a cashier at Hobby Lobby, I can tell you… there is a LOT more Christmas purchases being done than fall! People are already decorating trees!

So this week, let’s take a look at some Thanksgiving prep, recipes, and some fun activities for the kids. And then let’s peruse a few Christmas DIYs!

But first…

Abode Adventures

Never a dull moment here at MWA.

Unfortunately, this week held a moment that I wish hadn’t happened.

My 22-year-old nephew was on the way to the gym and was involved in a major car accident.

Cole suffered a trauma injury to his elbow that required surgery, a fractured shoulder, and a re-fracture to his neck (an old injury that they weren’t aware of showed up on the scan), along with some other minor injuries. The neck brace will be required for 4-6 weeks.

We are praising God that He spared Cole’s life, and his injuries were minimal, all things considered. We are also thanking the Lord for sparing Cole’s long-time girlfriend, Mallory. She normally goes to the gym with Cole, but that morning, she decided to stay home. If she had gone, we would have lost her.

So much to be thankful for!

Please be praying…

…for Cole’s complete recovery.

Also, I’m having some extensive physical issues with being on my feet 40 hours a week. Please be praying for wisdom, guidance, and healing for me, as well.

I’m heading to work in just a wee bit, so Finds and Tips will be back next week!

So, grab a cup of something warm and cozy, and enjoy the features!

Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

So many amazing posts, and such great inspiration! Can’t wait for this week!

  1. Oh my goodness, thank goodness your nephew is alive. Car accidents are so terrifying. I’m sorry to hear about your health issues. I see Aldi has their cashiers sit on stools, I always thought that was a great idea and more stores should do that. Thanks for the party.

  2. What a relief that your nephew is going to recover. I worry about my kids driving all the time. So scary! I hope your feeling better as well. Thanks for hosting each week!

  3. Such scary news for your family, Julie! Grateful that your nephew was spared and praying for his full recovery! I’m also praying for relief for you! I can only imagine how difficult it can be! 5. Julie,
I am so sorry to hear about your nephew but thankful as it could have been much worse….Praying for a quick and safe recovery…My husband worked retail part time in the early years of his retirement as a cashier and found it hard having to stand all day…..I know I would not be able to do it physically…I noticed in 2 of our Dollar tree stores that they have provided stools for cashiers to sit on when they have a break in the action….
    I thought it was a great idea…
Thanks so much for hosting!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!! I hope you are enjoying your week and you are doing well…

  6. Julie, thoughts of strong healing for you nephew and happiness for the whole family. Because it is never just the one injured…Thanks so much for hosting, this is such a great time of year for cooking and crafting! Melynda @scratchmadefood!

  7. Thanks so much Julie! I am so sorry about your nephew, but thank goodness it wasn’t worse. I’m also worried about you and being on your feet all day, maybe they’d let you sit on a stool? Take care~

  8. My prayers for Cole a speedy recovery and for you and your abused anatomy. When I was on my feet all the time I wore support stockings and a different pair of really good shoes everyday. Also get them feet up when not working, need that blood to flow the other way. Have a nice Thanksgiving with your family.

  9. Oh my goodness I’m so glad to hear your nephew is ok! And thank you for sharing my Thanksgiving printables! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving if I don’t talk to you before then! 🙂

  10. I’m so sorry to hear about your Nephew Julie; I pray for a speedy recovery.

I’ve noticed that a lot of people are putting up their Christmas decor before Thankgiving, so I’m not surprised you’re seeing that at the register too.

I’ve also had issues with standing for long periods. Have you tried orthotics? I just got a pair and am going to try them, so hopefully they help.

Thanks so much for featuring our crochet Santa mug!

  11. Sending prayers for your nephew’s full recovery Julie! I’ve thought so often about taking a part-time position at a Hobby Lobby or Home Goods. I haven’t done it for the very reason you’re describing. I’m sure they absolutely love you there! I wonder if maybe they will work with you and allow you to cashier half the day and possibly help out in other areas where you could sit for a bit? Praying it all works out!
