TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #278 NOVEMBER PREPARATIONS

We welcomed the month of November at last week’s party.

Are you ready to party?

How ’bout some prep for the coming holiday?

We’ve got all kinds of fun features this week that include Thanksgiving recipes, decor tips for the table, and even some fun games for adults and children alike!

Are you ready to be thankful for these features?

First, let’s look at some adventures, finds, and tips!

Abode Adventures

Yesterday was the first day I left HL and still had some energy! My feet were sore, but not unbearable, and I saw the chiro which was very helpful for my sciatica. However, I had to write part of this post standing up because my back just can’t handle a sitting position for any length of time.

Baby steps… I’ll get there!

This post may contain affiliate links, at no additional cost to you. For more information, see my complete disclosure HERE.

My Wee Finds

My biggest purchase this week was a new pair of New Balance shoes. Several people have told me to get at least two pairs of shoes and switch them out each day. I’ll see how these 1540 Runners work for me. I got them in extra wide so my tootsies have room to stretch.

If you want to be able to freeze your meals in food safe containers, these small containers are perfect for a serving. Just take the lid off and pop them in the microwave… they are oven safe, too!

I’m hoping to get one of these window shades for my RV bedroom door window. It will be helpful when the critters crawl along the wall and trip the motion light outside which shines in my eyes in the middle of the night!

Weekly Household Tip

If you buy your bell peppers in a package of two or more, you might find that the veggies go bad before you can use them. I’ve found that if I wrap them in paper towel and return them to the plastic bag they came in, they last 2-3 times longer in the fridge! (I wash them when I use them. 🙂 )

Weekly Blogging Tip

This quarter, just have fun! Create some new decor or crafts, take a few pics, and share them with your readers. Don’t worry about keywords and SEO, just have fun. This might not be a popular mind-set but, sometimes, we just need to be creative and enjoy!

Now, let’s get to some features! (With my sciatica acting up like it is, I’m doing another modified party… patience is a virtue, and you all are SO virtuous! 😉 )

And I’m calling it! Christmas posts can now begin!

Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

As I mentioned above… all systems are ‘go’ for linking Christmas! We need to get prepared, right?! 😉

  1. We’re so happy to be at your link up – thanks so much for hosting, Julie! All of your features are making me very excited for Thanksgiving… it’s such a special holiday! Thanks for the shoe advice and the link. I also often need extra wide shoes and they can be hard to find! Wishing you a great week ahead!

  2. I worked years as a clerk, standing on a concrete floor. In much younger days, but our feet can only take so much! My dogs were barking when I kicked off my one inch heels every night. To get the second pair of shoes, and (not an affiliate link or connection in any way) add an upgrade in the inner sole, one that will form to your foot when it is warmed up in the shoe, such as Soul brand, if they are still around. I have such large feet, I often purchase men’s shoes that fit, but not perfectly and that inner sole made all the difference. Best of luck, B T D T! Thanks for the link up, have a great week ahead!

  3. Julie,
Thanks so much for the feature!! I gave you a Shout Out on Face Book and will do so in my next post too!! Thanks for again for hosting such a lovely party each week!!! I truly do appreciate it!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!

  4. Thanks for hosting this week as the holiday time crunch begins! Definitely get a second pair of shoes — or a third! — in different styles or brands, as each one will fit you slightly differently. I can attest that the most comfortable for all day wear are shoes made by companies that market to athletes whose livelihoods depend on their feet. And they can be attractive too! Good luck!

  5. WOW, thanks so much for the honor and featuring the Malva Pudding Muffins recipe this week.
Hope the new shoes will do the trick!
Hi there, Julie, thanks for hosting. Wishing you an awesome Tuesday and rest of the week.
My entries this week are numbered #41+42

  6. Hi Julie,
I am glad that you are improving slowly but surely. A new job is a big adjustment at any time but you definitely have a lot on your plate. When I read your blog, I remembered that I needed to call my Dr. Had some tests two weeks ago and haven’t heard results. So thank you. Broke my femur in Sept and even though my leg is great, PT has flaired up my Bursa in my hip and the exercises I do for it, bother my knee but still feel really blessed and I know you feel blessed also. Keep on keeping on. God is faithful and his love is never ending. Happy Thanksgiving. The best part of HL is that it is a Christian company and you don’t work Sundays. PTL

  7. Julie, what a sweet surprise to see my Fowl and Feast tablescape featured, thank you!
Take care of those feet. I think the decision of getting two pair is critical. I walk 3 miles each day, and I switch mine out, and completely replace them every six months. Once you find a style you love, my advice is to order a backup pr when on sale!

  8. Thanks for hosting the party each week, Julie, it’s always a pleasure to visit. You might ask your doctor for some stretches for your sciatica, I do mine every day and it really helps eliminate the pain.
