Tuesday Turn About #308 Hello Summer
Tuesday Turn About #308 Hello Summer: This week, we are welcoming summer with fun home tips, recipes, makeovers and more!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #308 HELLO SUMMER
Last week’s party was all about summer home tips and tricks.
Hello, summer!
Well, in 3 days we can officially greet the summer season!

We are definitely feeling it here… and in a very hot way, with temps in the 80s. Womp, womp.
It could be worse! It could be in the 90s or even 100s! So, I’m thankful for temps in the low to mid 80s.
In celebration, let’s take a look at some features that will fit right into the hot summer season!
Abode Adventures
I’m also thankful to the Lord that the temps are not extreme (yet) because my car’s AC went out… again.

Today, I took the car to the mechanic (again), and he discovered the compressor is not working correctly. So, I need to wait to have it fixed, as it is a $700 repair. First world problems, so I will turn on the fan, drink cold water, and use a cooling towel on my neck (which REALLY helps!).
And the cabinet saga continues…
This week, I worked on my kitchen cabinet doors, and started using the paint sprayer. It was a LOT of prepping, and a LOT of clean-up using the paint sprayer, and after applying the primer and one coat of paint on the backs with the sprayer, I decided to pivot and finish them off by hand!
My drawers turned out GREAT using a roller and brush, and I’m hoping the same will happen with the door fronts! I have two days off this week, and I’m hoping to have them finished. (But, truth be told, the humidity is NOT making this job go any faster!)
My Wee Finds
Are you getting ready for summer guests? This INTEX Twin Size Air Mattress is easy to use and super comfy!
My granddaughter LOVES sticker-by-number books (it’s actually really fun), and this Sticker by Number: Words of Jesus is the perfect adult beginner book!
Want a warm drink on a cool summer evening? Using an Electric Gooseneck Kettle is an easy and safe way to make your fave beverage because the ‘innards’ are stainless steel! The black coating is the perfect finish for any home!
Weekly Household Tip
Now is the perfect time to check that your fans are all clean and ready for the summer season. If you can’t figure out how to clean your fan, do a quick search on YouTube. Using the brand and model name in the search, you should be able to find a tutorial in a snap!
Weekly Blogging Tip
Here’s another tip I learned from the mini Pinterest course… Something I already do.
Create templates for your pins that you can use over and over by simply replacing the image and the overlay. And make sure the overlay ‘gets to the point’. Say what the ‘problem’ is, and what you are offering as the solution.
Also, just a reminder… If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Check out our Tuesday Turn About Link Party Pinterest board! All featured posts are pinned to this board each week, IF you have a pinnable image!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
- By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.
Last week saw a great attendance, and I’m praying for the same this week, as well! Keep those summer and Independence Day posts comin’!

$700 is a lot to pay just to have the air conditioner in your car fixed. I don’t know if I could do it. ha ha.
I know… it’s a lot. But I’m very fair, and I inherited over-active perspiration glands from my dad (TMI?). So with the humidity in the 90s, it’s very difficult to deal with the heat for me. I got to work the other day without the AC, and everyone thought I was going to faint! Anyways… we’ll see what the Lord has in store!
Julie, so.sorry your AC went out in the car. Here, it is so humid these days (80-90% round the clock). And even though our temps are also mid 80s, it feels much worse. I love the sticker book! How old is the granddaughter who loves them? I saved yours to purchase. Love that kettle too!
Thank you for the tablescape feature! I’m in such good company with the wonderful summer foods features and Proud American printable.
Yes… our humidity has been in the 90s as well. Yuck. My oldest granddaughter is 7, and she loves just about anything having to do with paper. 🙂 You are so welcome for the feature. Glad to have you along!
Happy Summer, Julie! I’m not looking forward to the heat, but I do love the sunshine! So sorry to hear about your car’s a/c.
I agree with you about the sunshine. Summer is not my fave. 😉
Hey Julie! So glad the temps haven’t reach the 90’s! I’ll be praying you can get your air conditioning in your car fixed soon! Have the best week! ❤️
Thanks, Kim… it was fixed, and then broke down again. My mechanic is a bit befuddled. Back to see him on Monday for the 3rd week in a row!
Julie,
They are predicted a heat wave for us next week which means, here in NEPA, that will be 3 days over 90 degrees….I will not be leaving my air conditioned house…. Not a lover of heat and humidity!!
My Link Ups for today’s party are # 15, 16 and 17!!!!
Thanks so much for hosting this wonderful party!! I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into it along with visiting all the links!! I hope you are having a great week!!
Hugs,
Deb

I prefer all the seasons over summer. I’m just too fair to deal with the heat well. Have a great rest of your weekend!
As always such a great variety of features! Thanks for hosting, have a great week ahead. Melynda @scratchmadefood!
Always good to have you!
Thank you so much for sharing my kitchen with your amazing readers! So exciting!
So sad that the car A/C is on the fritz again. Car troubles always stress me out! But glad the kitchen cabinets are coming along. Yes, the paint sprayer can be quite tedious. And messy. Glad the roller is doing the trick!
🙂 Linda
Thanks, Linda! I got the AC fixed on Wednesday, and it’s broken AGAIN! I’ll be visiting the mechanic for the 3rd Monday in a row. Sigh. You are so welcome for the feature. Your kitchen is lovely!
Thanks so much Julie! Try to stay cool!
So good to see you, Jenna! Missed you!
Great tips and I’m excited to see the cabinets when they are all finished! Hope things cool down for you and you have a blessed week. Thanks for the party!
Thanks, Cindy! Doors should be done tomorrow. Humidity has not helped this, at all!
Hooray for summer…although I might not be saying that next week when our temps are in the 90s! Thanks for hosting and enjoy your week!
Shelley
Tell me about it! Not lovin’ the humidity and high temps here, either! 😉
Good luck with your cabinets Julie – it’s a process! Thanks so much for hosting the party. Hope you have a lovely cool week!
Thanks, Barbara. I have one more coat to go and I’ll be done! Should have them finished tomorrow! Woot!
Thank you for the party and the feature, Julie! Have a great rest of the week! Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
It’s great to see you back at the party! You’ve been missed!
Thanks for the various tips you’ve offered – I look forward to them every week, Julie! I understand that completing a project when the humidity is high can be difficult. It’s definitely stopped me before! The air temp here in Minnesota might only be in the 70’s but the humidity (especially with all the rain we’ve been getting) makes the air so heavy!
Yes… we continue to have sky high humidity. I hope you get some reprieve from it soon, too!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and inviting me to your party! So glad you did. And thank you for hosting!
So glad to have your with us, Angie! Hope to see you each week!
