TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #306 JUNE JUBILEE

Last week we explored all kinds of fun summer projects.

Welcome to Tuesday Turn About!

June has arrived and we are less than three weeks away from the summer season!

So Cal didn’t get the memo about it STILL being spring! We’ve had a heatwave for the last few days, and it hasn’t been fun. Read on to find out why it’s been worse than normal!

But, I digress… The party this week features all kinds of summer recipes, home inspiration and even some wonderful photos of the close of spring! So many wonderful posts this week… I had to include a bonus feature!

Abode Adventures

So, nothing quite like a heatwave and NO air-conditioning in your car! Yep… when it rains it pours! (That’s a bit of an oxy-moron!)

A few days ago, it seems my car’s AC decided to go on the fritz. I’m sitting here in the office of my long-time mechanic as I write this. We are hoping it’s just a recharge needed!

The Lord is faithful, and I trust HE will provide with all the challenges He’s bringing into my life lately. HE is my Provider… not my job, not the blog… only HIM. (Can you hear me preaching to myself?! 😉 )

(Update: Praise God, it only needed to be recharged! And my wonderful mechanic didn’t even charge me! Wonder if it was due to the Starbuck’s Shaken Espresso I brought him? 😉 )

And the cabinets are coming along…

The kitchen drawer fronts are finished and I’m in the middle of refinishing the hardware (pictures are being taken for a post)! Woot!

The cabinet doors are next!

And, there is a tiny kitchen-cabinet-organization post coming soon, as well!

Health Check-in

It’s been a long minute since I did a health check-in.

In November 2024, I had reached my lowest weight loss at 29.6 pounds. Since getting my job at Hobby Lobby, it’s been difficult for me to stay consistent with cooking, and even more difficult to not go back to my old habits of food idolatry.

I gained back 9.2 pounds.

Last week, I started pleading with the Lord (again!) to give me HIS power to make wise choices for HIS glory, and my good. On Tuesday of last week, I started making good choices, and only ‘slipped’ a couple times this weekend.

As of today, I’ve lost 4.2 pounds.

I know that is water weight, but at least I’m headed in the right direction! All glory to the Lord!

My Wee Finds

This pretty cotton sweater is on my wish list… it comes in LOTS of color combos!

Having a tiny kitchen has its challenges (I’ve said it before, and this time won’t be the last). Using this lovely ceramic utensil holder on the top of my stove has been a lifesaver. All my important, most-often-used items are stored in this.

Speaking of space-savers… I have two of these silverware trays in my kitchen. They are ‘mini’, and fit perfectly in my RV-sized kitchen drawers!

Weekly Household Tip

Last night, while I was sitting at the computer, I thought of a tip to share… and now I can’t remember it! I HATE when that happens. So, hopefully I can remember THAT tip for next week.

In the meantime, here’s a gardening tip: Remember to cut off and/or dead-head the faded flowers on your plants. This will allow ALL the water and nutrients to feed the new buds and flowers, instead of trying to resurrect the dead ones!

Weekly Blogging Tip

Time got away from me with the Pinterest mini-course I’m taking. I’ll be back with some intel next week.

However, remember to be writing for your readers. Be sure to use keywords, but don’t kill yourself over SEO. No one knows what Google is doing, so we do our best, and rest.

Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Check out our Tuesday Turn About Link Party Pinterest board! All featured posts are pinned to this board each week, IF you have a pinnable image!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

It was such a pleasant surprise to have 100 link-ups this past holiday week! Always look forward to new inspiration, along with posts that are past faves! Thanks for sharing at the party!

  1. Julie, I’m happy to hear that it only needed to be recharged. We had something similar happen to one of our very first cars. And, of course, when it did happen, it was summer. I hope you see some cooler weather in the upcoming days. Take care, and thank you for hosting this wonderful linkup.

    1. It HAS gotten cooler. I even washed my car last week, and guess what… yep… it rained the next day! 🙄

  2. Julie,

    1. I’ve thought about getting a walking pad, too! Let me know if it works out for you! I DO have a treadmill available to me in the house of the woman I’m renting my pad from, so that is a good option!

  3. Good to hear you’re back on the right track with your diet/lifestyle plan. It’s hard for me to stick to a plan in the summer when I have less time to prepare meals because of my garden. Thanks for the party.

    1. Didn’t occur to me that it would be harder with less in the garden. But you have some AMAZING daffodils! 😉

  4. Haven’t been here for awhile but glad to hear that the car trouble wasn’t too troubling! And that your kitchen reno is moving forward. Can’t wait to see the results!

Thanks for hosting us all here on your wonderful blog!

    🙂 Linda

    1. I’m so surprised you sold the house! I’ll be featuring you at this week’s party! So glad to have you with us, and hope to see LOTS in the new place!

  5. Thank you for hosting! I really enjoy the party- so much inspiration.
I’m thrilled you shared my lemon Balm Tea. It will be a good option for summer refreshment. xo lisa S

  6. Julie, thanks so much for including my blue and lavender table among your features. A great way to start my day! We had a short stretch of hot weather in mid-May, then a lovely few weeks of spring temps (and so much rain!) Frankly I can wait for summer.

    1. The temps have been cooler here, and we finally have our June Gloom! I’m sure summer temps will be back soon! 😉

  7. Great features this week, my friend.
So glad your a/c dilemma worked out for the best. I think it was the Lord and NOT Starbucks that helped. 😉 And I’m excited for your weight loss as well! Keep it up. Only 5 more pounds to get back to your full amount! You should be very proud of yourself. Water or not!
Last but not least, I need a Pinterest Class! I’m so over it. My numbers have dropped significantly, and it’s so frustrating! Happy summertime Julie. Miss our chats.

    1. So glad to have you join us this week, Cindy! Yes, it WAS the Lord that answered my prayer about the AC, for sure! Today, I had to go BACK to the dentist because my crowns are STILL not right. The dr. is going to have to replace the one because it’s just not fitting right, and it’s affecting the other one, too. But only one will need to be redone. Ugh! But, thankful to the Lord that it was a root canal that was needed! I was a bit fearful of that!

  8. THANK YOU Julie for including my Nature Walk Scavenger Hunt Printables with the rest of the inspiration this week! Have a wonderful week, sweet friend! Creatively, Beth
