TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #220 FABULOUS HOME IDEAS
Want some recipes AND crafts for fall apples? Take a look!
We are so glad you are joining us for this week’s homestyle party!
This week, I thought I would share some ‘regular old home posts’, that feature great ideas for our home, no matter what season we are in!
But, fear not, fall is far from over, and we are just starting to celebrate the season here at TTA!
Adventures at the Abode…
The ‘adventures’ never seem to end here at My Wee Abode.
I was all gung-ho about getting a new post out to you all this past Saturday, and then an ER visit late Friday with Mom postponed those plans, yet again.
Unfortunately, Mom was diagnosed with shingles.
Much grace from the Lord was felt at the ER. With sundowning, Mom can get easily anxious and agitated from 3pm until bedtime. Add-in different surroundings and lots of activity, and it’s usually too much to handle… for both of us!
However, Mom was very calm at the hospital, and didn’t start getting anxious until we were just about to leave for home. God is certainly loving and kind to have eased Mom’s mind, when it is usually quite confused and anxious in every day settings.
Please pray for quick healing. Because of Mom’s Alzheimer’s, she often forgets she has shingles, and doesn’t remember what the pain is from. Unfortunately, this makes for unnecessary pain as she rubs the area and will not lie down in a position that is most comfortable. However, things could be worse… and we are thankful they aren’t!
A Much Needed Getaway…
This coming week, my daughter and I will be taking one night and two days to have a mother/daughter getaway. We look forward to going down south, shopping and visiting hole-in-the-wall restaurants. We also look forward to returning ‘refreshed and feeling great’!
Okay… enough about home life. Let’s take a look at some fun features!
And remember…
Be sure to hop on over to My Family Thyme to check out FIVE additional features from TTA!
If you haven’t been featured at MWA this week, you just may be featured there!
With home being so busy, I’m treading water to get everything done I need to get done… so we’re going to try to get our weekly tips started again next week… again, Lord-willing!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!
Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:
- This party is for home decor and home-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
- If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
- DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
- Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!

Julie I’m so sorry things have been so hairy! You’re doing a wonderful thing by being there for your mom. Your mother/daughter trip will be great – I’m looking forward to hearing about that! Thanks for joining in, Laura!
Praying for your mom and grateful for people like you who care for their loved ones. I hope you have a rejuvenating get away.
I don’t miss a post!
God bless!
Awww, thanks so much, Josee! I SOOOO appreciate my ‘hard-core’ family members! 😉 Hugs!
Thank you so much for the feature and I agree, I think my bathroom should have gotten the makeover first lol.
I’m praying for your mom, I have had it twice and it’s awful. I hope you have an amazing time away this weekend!
XO
Kristin
Oh no, Kristin! That is awful that you have had the virus. Mom is doing well. Seems we caught the rash soon enough for the anti-viral to work. We are praying that it is not a 5-week battle! Arnica cream seems to be helping… but who knows! With all that she is taking and using, we just know that her major pain has subsided… for now!
Thanks for another fun party Julie. I hope your mother is feeling better. I heard it’s not fun and it reminds me I need two get the shingles vaccine. Have a fabulous weekend and can’t wait to her all about it. XO- MaryJo
Thanks, MaryJo… Not everyone gets the virus. Be sure to look into all the side effects before taking the shot. I won’t be getting it. 🙂 And we are still debating about having Mom get it after she is healed. 🙂
I’m so sorry your mom has shingles. Adding her and you to my prayer list! Thanks for hosting and take care!
Thanks, Donna… she is on the mend, and the Lord is good through it all!
I’m sorry to hear about your mom. I’ve heard how terrible shingles is. Thanks for the party.
Thanks, Amy. Prayers are coveted while she heals.
Oh, Julie, I hope your mom heals quickly. I’m so glad the ER visit went well. I’ll keep you and your mom in my prayers. You’ve had so much on your shoulders, and you are so full of patience and joy!
Thank you, Pam… Patience and joy? Well, what I DO have comes from the Lord, and I pray for more all the time!
Julie I hope your Mom is feeling better soon! Praying for her and for you as her caregiver, hugs and thank you for hosting! xo Tanya
Thank you, Tanya. It looks like she is on the mend. 🙂
Thanks for another great party. Although, where are the snacks?! Hope you and your daughter have a wonderful trip. I would love to do that with my girls!
Thanks, Cindy! We had a refreshing time… and enjoyed talking without interruptions! I’m still thinking about the snacks for the party! 😉
So sorry to hear about your mom, Julie. Yes, dementia makes everything harder and that sundowning:( 🙁 Hope she recovers quickly. Thanks for hosting!
Thanks, Lora! She’s in the healing stage now. Brings on a whole ‘nother set of issues.
I hope you have a wonderful trip with your daughter. You deserve a break and need some fun! Praying for your mom. What an ordeal!!
Thanks so much, Michelle! It was a great getaway, and Nika and I were refreshed!
