Tuesday Turn About #328 More Cross Hollidation: We’re kicking off November with fall AND Christmas features!

TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #328 MORE CROSS HOLLIDATION

Last week’s party, we continued to ‘fall’ow the season.

Welcome to November!

And welcome to the party!!!

This week, we are going to kick things off for Christmas! Yep… we’ll do some fall AND some Christmas… more ‘cross-hollidation’. Just like Hobby Lobby, right?

We have projects, crafts, recipes, tablescapes, and more!

Abode Adventures

The mold on my flooring is just about gone. I used some stain remover, several times, and now all I have are some small spots. Now it is being treated with Mold Control, which is supposed to cover the spores, “choke” them, and kill them. Here’s hoping! I’ll keep you posted.

Hobby Lobby was quiet the night of Halloween (“Hobby-ween”), but many of the team dressed up to get in the spirit. My nickname at the store is “Tinker Bell”, so I did my hair and makeup as a 60-year-old Tink. It would have been more, but my DIY costume failed. Oh well… next year!

November 1st was a Saturday AND a payday, so HL was bombarded. We had all the registers open from 10:30 to closing. I even pulled a couple extra hours to helps out after my scheduled shift. Christmas is here, whether we like it or not! 😉

My Wee Finds

The car visor I shared last week has worked like a dream! Even better than the OG. It took a hammer to push the clips in place, but it only took a minute to install at that point! Win!

The only hand cream that DOESN’T dry out my skin more is Derma-E. I’ve shared this before, but it’s worth sharing again. Just bought my second tube. I’ve NEVER finished a tube of lotion!

In the hopes of leaning into healthier items for my body, I’m going to try this plant-derived deodorant soap. This may be a good replacement for the brand name product I’ve been using for years!

Weekly Household Tip

Homemade chicken and rice soup is a family fave! Our recipe calls for white long-grain rice but, overnight, it always absorbs too much water and we are left with more of a porridge than soup (but, it’s still yummy).

Recently, I tried using brown rice in my recipe, because it was the only rice I had in the trailer. Problem solved! Not only did it not absorb extra broth, but it gave it a heartier texture that I love!

We’ll need to see if the rest of the family agrees! 😉

Now, let’s get this party started!

Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

I love seeing the Christmas posts! Keep ’em coming, as readers need inspo for the Christmas holiday! Have a great week!

  3. I’ve not heard the term “cross hollidation” before but it certainly sums up the season, doesn’t it?!? I can only imagine how busy HL will be during the coming weeks – it’s definitely one of my favorite places to visit for a bit of holiday cheer! Thanks for the party, Julie! Happy November!

    1. Yes… I love the taste and texture of brown rice. I have some on the stove right now! Gonna make some cajun chicken and rice!

  5. Hi Julie! If I worked at HL, I would never have a paycheck because I would spend it all there! It’s my favorite place to find holiday decor! Thank you for hosting this party despite your busy schedule! And thanks for featuring my post on How to Have the Best Thanksgiving Ever! I greatly appreciate it! Have a wonderful week!

  6. Thank you so much for the feature! We also enjoy chicken and rice soup. My daughter calls herself a “soup connoisseur” and wants to try as many soups as possible. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. You are so welcome, Kristen. My niece and I call ourselves “red velvet” connoisseurs, for the same reason. 😉

  7. I have no room for more stuff as it is. If I worked at Hobby Lobby I would have to build a room. I’m sure many items are sold out for Christmas. Thanksm for hosting and love the name of the party. I am #46 this week

    1. So many people say that… they couldn’t work there because they would spend their check there. I haven’t done that. My biggest purchases have been for my grands! 🙂 Happy to see you here, Cindy!
