TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #54 Summer Furniture Projects

You can find Patriotic Inspiration at last week’s party!

Happy TWOSDAY, y’all… For those that are new to My Wee Abode, TWOSDAY happens once a month around here… when I have TWO posts on Tuesday: Tuesday Turn About AND the Pinterest Challenge.

Today’s Pinterest Challenge is all about Patrioric Decor, and there is LOTS of inspiration for the red, white, and blue holidays!

Today at Tuesday Turn About, we’re looking at some summer furniture projects, tips and tricks that my blogging friends shared this past week. And remember…

Before we dig-in to this week’s features, let’s take a look at our weekly tips!

Weekly Blogging Tip

Whether you are using Classic Editor, Gutenberg (both are WordPress.org), or any other blogging platform, be sure that your affiliate links are “nofollow/no follow”.

No Follow links tell search engines not to count these particular links to other pages as “votes” in favor of our content. This makes Google happy, which makes us happy, too!

For more info regarding “No Follow” take a look at this detailed post from AHRefs.

Weekly Household Tip

I have to confess, I’m AWFUL when it comes to this next household tip. But, it’s SO good, I just have to share and encourge both you and me to ‘just do it’.

Make your bed. E’ry day.

Yep, it’s as easy as that. Like I said, I’m awful at doing this each day. But when I do, it just sets the right-frame-of-mind for my day. And, it makes for a wonderful welcome when I arrive home from work.

How ’bout you… do you make your bed each day? C’mon… be honest… I was! LOL!

Now, let’s get on with the party!

Buffet, Twice Over

What’s better than a makeover on a buffet? Well, CoCo from The Crowned Goat shows us that you can one-up a makeover by doing it again! Take a look at how she re-painted this lovely little buffet AND added some embellishments for a little more ‘umph’!

Now It’s Your Turn! Link Away!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor and home-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

As always, we love visiting each post every week! And we love it when you share the party with your friends and fellow bloggers!

And thank you for your comments! I look forward to them each week!

  1. Julie, not only was your post yesterday of toning down the RWB for patriotism timely, it’s exactly how I styled my tablescape for Diving into Summer (with a Side of Patriotism). I love your blogging tips that you gals are sharing too each week. It’s a pleasure to join in your company in this first summer link party. Be well.

  2. I’m about the least compulsive person on the planet, but I DO make my bed every day! I didn’t always, but since it is the largest thing in the room, making it instantly makes the room feel cleaned up. And I love my bedroom – I love the wall color, I love my bedding and pretty pillows, I love my comfy little my reading chair, I love my windowseat – so I spend a lot of time in here and it makes sense to want it to feel cleaned up 🙂

    1. I agree, Janet… the reason I like my bed made (when I do it) is it looks clean and peaceful. We always need peace in our lives!

  3. Julie thank you so much for featuring my potting bench makeover! It was a fun project and I am so thankful you loved it too. Such a great link party and the other lovely bloggers you featured are wonderful company!

  4. Ha Julie – we won’t hold your bed-making or non-bed-making against you! 😉 I am usually out of the house in the mornings before our bed is vacated, so usually not made! (At least until I get home!) 🙂 I’m a bed maker for sure. 💗 Thanks for hosting, as always. Hope you’re having a fine week.

    1. Of course, Debbie… did you notice that you were featured last week? I just didn’t want you to miss it! 😉

  5. the green potting bench AND that fabulous old basket and hydrangeas are so gorgeous, love it all. thanks so much for hosting, Julie!!! now let’s not talk about making the bed. I tend to be a napper. does “straightening” count? tehe

  6. Hi Julie, thanks for the lovely party. Sorry but I DO make my bed as soon as I get up lol! For years I didn’t do it but then I read somewhere that it makes you feel more organized and sets you in the right mind for the day. Since then, I’ve always done it – not sure if it works mind you but now it’s a habit! Hope you have a lovely rest of the week!

    1. Are you kidding? Don’t apologize for making your bed! LOL! It’s a great discipline, and one I’m hoping to do more and more each week! 😉

  7. Hi Julie,

Yes, another bed maker! 😉 Loved the blogger tip again. I have never heard of “no follow.” I’m learning some good tips coming here each week! Hope you have a wonderful week and stay safe!

    Hugs,

    Tee @ Teediddlydee

  8. Oh my goodness, I love that potting bench. And I do make my bed every single day, except for the rare occurrence where I have to leave the house quickly in the morning and don’t have time. I can’t stand the way an unmade bed looks and I don’t like going to sleep in an unmade bed. Thanks for the party!

    1. Well, I got all the conviction this week, and I actually made my bed of 50% of the days this week! Woot!

  9. I’m super excited about all the patriotic ways people are decorating this year for the 4th! Love all the features you chose and I really appreciate you including my little dining room buffet too, Julie. Thanks so much for hosting. Hugs and happy summer, CoCo

    1. For some reason, I knew you would be a bed-maker, Marie! 😉 Thanks for the encouragement… I actually worked on it this week!

  10. Julie,
I make my bed each day. Thanks for hosting. Just wanted to share my Fresh peach sorbet.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
    Hugs,
    Bev
