Tuesday Turn About #272 Great Fall Outdoors
Tuesday Turn About #272 Great Fall Outdoors: Let’s take the party outside on this first day of October! You might be surprised what we find!
TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #272 GREAT FALL OUTDOORS
Last week’s party included fabulous fall foods!
Well hello, October!
And hello all the TTA party-ers! So glad you are here!
Yep, October has arrived. I thought we were done with the scorching temps here in So Cal, but the weather app is promising high 80s this week, and even high 90s by the weekend.
Seriously… WHAT?! 😫
Well, let’s PRETEND that we have cool days this week… at least I will pretend. On a good note, the mornings and evenings have been quite cool, which is a blessing!
So, while we pretend, let’s peruse some of the great fall outdoors, shall we? We have hikes, recipes, crafts, and decor, all that involve nature and all things outside.
But first…
Abode Adventures
It’s the first of the month! And that means I share the progress with my health, wellness, and New Life Promise!
In September, I lost a total of 5.8 pounds. My grand total in 12 weeks is 22.6 pounds!
I’m really happy with the rate of loss.
The slower I lose, the better for my overall health and system, and the harder it is to put back on (which I don’t plan on). I have seen a loss every week, and that is encouraging.
Some clothing items need to be replaced. That’s always a catch-22. Lose weight, spend money. Argh!
This past weekend…
I went to a last-minute dinner at my daughter’s home. She made a family favorite casserole, all with clean/organic ingredients, but still not “balanced”. It was delicious!
Normally, I would have had WAY too much of this favorite recipe, but God enabled me to follow the new/healthy cues He has given by body, and I had one regular portion, and two skinny pieces of French bread (another temptation in the past… 6 skinny pieces would have been the norm). I wasn’t even tempted to have more dinner!!! For dessert, while watching a movie, I had thought ahead and brought one of my NLP pumpkin choco chip muffins.
My daughter is still getting adjusted to the grace the Lord is giving me. She’s never seen me have a balanced, healthy relationship with food. To God be the glory! Truly!

My Wee Finds
Well, y’all… I’m sanding the cabinet frames/boxes in the kitchen! Finally! I’m not going to say that painting should commence this week because… life. However, I do want you to take a look at this nifty 3M Manual Masker Kit. It is AMAZING! It’s been great for covering appliances, and even sectioning off the kitchen area from the rest of the trailer.
Do y’all use cast iron pans? I JUST started, and picked up a Lodge skillet at HomeGoods for a steal. But, I did need to order a silicone handle cover and some scrapers. VERY handy!
I’m looking to purchase a couple of new blouses, and I thought this Swiss dot henley was pretty! Do you like this red chiffon blouse?
Weekly Household Tip
Recently, I’ve started using laundry detergent sheets. Have you ever tried them? I’m using a brand called Freddies. So far, I’m liking them!
