Tuesday Turn About #275 October Tidbits: We’ve got something for everyone at this week’s party. A little of this and that, and a whole lot of inspiration!

TUESDAY TURN ABOUT #275 OCTOBER TIDBITS

Last week’s party was A LOT of fun!

Welcome to the party!

This week, we continue with fall, Halloween, and even a One Room Challenge!

It’s a little bit of this and a wee bit of that, but LOTS of ideas, tips, and trick!

This party never lacks inspiration and wonderful blog posts from across the country… and world!

The party will be a bit modified this week because…

Abode Adventures

It’s never a dull moment here at My Wee Abode.

This past weekend, I was at a party for my grand-niece who turned two. My brother (the grandpa) hosted the event and had just recently installed new flooring in his home. He showed me a photo a couple weeks ago of the camouflaged step from one room to the next. (A friend asked me to post photos, so here you go.)

The photo on the left is what I saw coming in…
The photo on the right is the view on the other side of the step, what I fell off of.

I said, “You better get that fixed before I come over and miss that step!”

Guess what? Yep! I took quite a tumble and sprained one ankle and bruised the other. Praise God I twisted as I fell and landed on my side, and my knees were spared.

So, here I sit writing this post with legs elevated. I’m healing quickly, it seems… another gift from the Lord!

Still no social security card.

The SSA office said I needed to wait until Wednesday. If I haven’t received it then, I’m supposed to call them. I’ll be surprised if they can expedite another one. I’m trusting the Lord on this Providential joy-ride… what else can I do?

It seems from my connection at Hobby Lobby that the manager is still waiting for me, and only wants me to contact him when I get the card. Yep… waiting on Him.

My Wee Finds

One thing that has really helped me feel better, and seems to be contributing to my healing, is this Arnica Cream. It’s pretty amazing stuff, and I will be getting these Arnica Tabs to replace the Ibuprofen I’ve been downing every 6 hours.

The closets in my bedroom are not full size… so I have to hang my clothes ‘in half’ to get them to fit. I’m going to use these velvet hanger clips to help keep my blouses wrinkle free by folding the bottom up to the shoulders and clipping them.

Weekly Tips will be back next week!

So let’s get to the party!

Though not a requirement at all, I would be SO blessed if you would subscribe and/or follow me either here on the blog, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Thanks!

Let’s start sharing! Because this is a party, we encourage all who link up to visit several other bloggers who have linked as well – comments and pins are a great way to spread the love!

Before you get started, take a look at our guidelines:

  • This party is for home decor, home-related posts, and family-related posts only (recipes, organizing, DIY, crafts, travel, education, etc.). Link up to 3 related posts. Please do not link up informational posts that do not relate to the topic.
  • If you would please not link up shops, advertising, round-ups, other link parties, or any posts promoting sales, we would appreciate it.
  • DO NOT PIN FROM IMAGES ON THIS PAGE (it just won’t work right on Pinterest). However, please visit the original post/source and pin from there. That works perfectly!
  • Please make sure that your images are in a jpeg or png format. If we can’t save your image, we may not be able to feature you. So sad!
  • By linking to the party, you give us permission to share your projects on our blogs and social media, with the use of ONE photo from your blog for that may be included in a pinnable collage. We will always give proper credit with a no-pin image.

We’ve had some great attendance the last few weeks here at the party! Love it! Hope to see more each week! Have a great one!

  2. Oh my! I’m so sorry about your fall. That sounds awful. I can’t even imagine a “camouflaged” step. I would like to see that photo. And I still can’t believe you’re waiting on your SSN card! That Hobby Lobby manager is very patient. Thanks for the party.

    1. The card came today! And the manager said I still have the job, though he has some scheduling conflicts for onboarding me. (Too much to even write.) So, it may be as late as the week after next! Crazy! I’ve added photos to the post. 😉

    1. Thanks, Andrea… the SS card arrived today, and my ankle is feeling SO much better! Quite amazing. I could put on shoes and walk normal. Still major bruises, but doing better!

  3. I have been using Arnica oil for over 6 months and it’s helped me with lowering pain levels. I took a fall 5 days ago and my bruises are already turning to yellow and I feel like it’s help me with lower pain levels. I highly recommend this wonder oil for all kinds of muscle problems.

  7. I’m so glad your ankles are doing better, Julie! And so glad your SS card came! Thanks for the party, and have a great rest of your week!

  8. Oh no, Julie! I’m sorry to hear about your mishap. My husband is hyper aware of things like said step, rugs, and other obstacles to clear walking, so we’ve taken great pains to minimize that kind of thing here in our home. I hope you heal completely, and quickly.

    1. Thanks, Rita! I’m so glad to report that I can walk normal on my ankle. Just getting up at first is a little ‘tight’, and I have to stretch before I can walk normal… if that makes sense. So glad to have you with us this week!

    1. You are so welcome, Kim. My ankles feel quite good today… it was my day off. But I’m back standing for 7.5 hours tomorrow at HL. Prayers are appreciated!
